Key Responsibilities

• Conduct culturally sensitive mental health assessments, gathering comprehensive histories that reflect patients' unique personal and cultural experiences to create tailored treatment plans.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities to design and implement individual, family, and group therapy sessions, adjusting strategies to meet the cultural and personal needs of each patient.
• Provide direct crisis intervention and support, ensuring that patients receive timely, appropriate care during mental health emergencies.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health professionals to ensure a cohesive treatment plan is maintained for every patient.
• Engage in community outreach and educational initiatives to promote awareness of mental health resources and reduce stigma among underserved populations.
• Maintain meticulous documentation in accordance with legal standards and ethical guidelines, utilizing our electronic health records (EHR) system for efficient management of patient information.
• Participate actively in ongoing training sessions focused on cultural competency and best practices in mental health therapy to enhance your skills and knowledge base.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a diverse clientele, including individuals facing various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and interpersonal issues. By applying a holistic and culturally responsive framework in your therapeutic approach, you will play a significant role in promoting resilience and improving the overall well-being of our patients, fostering an atmosphere where they feel safe and supported.

Qualifications

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid license as an LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or PsyD in the state of Virginia.
• A comprehensive understanding of mental health disorders and a solid grasp of evidence-based treatment approaches.
• Experience in delivering individual and group therapy, emphasizing culturally responsive techniques and fostering therapeutic relationships.
• Strong crisis intervention skills with the capability to maintain composure in challenging scenarios.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling positive rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and standard computer applications for documentation and communication.
• A commitment to uphold professional boundaries, ethical guidelines, and patient confidentiality.
• Effective collaboration skills to work seamlessly within our multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of direct experience in mental health counseling.
• Experience working with underrepresented populations and understanding their unique mental health needs.
• Knowledge of community resources that support mental health and social services.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 100,000 yearly, reflecting your experience and qualifications.
