Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance team on a contract basis. In this role, you'll play a key part in keeping the full invoice cycle running smoothly, from initial receipt through final payment, while partnering closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve issues quickly and accurately. It's an excellent opportunity for an organized accounting professional who enjoys a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and wants to contribute to a well-run, collaborative finance operation.

  • Job Type: Contract (4+ months)
  • Location: Remote (EST)
  • Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $37 - 40/hr

What You'll Do:

  • Manage the full invoice cycle, from receipt through payment
  • Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders on invoice and payment status
  • Research and resolve issues related to invoices, purchase orders, payments, credits, and vendor information
  • Review employee expense reimbursement requests for policy compliance and approve for posting to the general ledger
  • Support month-end close, including preparing journal entries and completing account reconciliations

  • Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounts payable experience with strong AP proficiency
  • Solid understanding of internal controls related to accounting transactions
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Highly detail- and process-oriented, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
