Job description

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join a supportive educational setting in San Jose, CA. The provider will work with children, adolescents, and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and communication challenges while delivering individualized speech and language therapy services in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct speech and language evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Provide direct therapy services to students with communication, speech, and language disorders
• Support students using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems
• Collaborate with teachers, occupational therapists, behavioral staff, psychologists, and other interdisciplinary team members
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
• Adapt therapeutic interventions to meet students' developmental, sensory, and behavioral needs
• Support functional communication and social interaction goals within the educational setting

Schedule:
• Monday - Friday
• 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• No weekends or on-call responsibilities

Requirements:
• Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Active California SLP License/Certification
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience required
• Experience working with autism spectrum disorders and/or developmental disabilities
• Experience with AAC systems and special education environments preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP processes and documentation requirements
• Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
• School-based experience (Required)

Preferred Experience:
• Experience in nonpublic schools (NPS), therapeutic educational settings, or special education programs
• Familiarity with evidence-based methodologies such as ABA, DIR/Floortime, TEACCH, PRT, SCERTS, RDI, and CPI strategies
• Experience supporting nonverbal or minimally verbal students

• Ages 5-22 years and adult transition program patients 22+
• 1:1 student-focused support environment
