Essential Function:
Looking to make a difference in quality? Join Silfex as a Quality Inspector 1, where your attention to detail and drive for excellence ensures our products meet top standards. In this hands-on role, you'll perform inspections, use basic math and computer skills, and receive training and support to grow your career - all while helping us deliver the best to our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Know and understand specification criteria and perform inspections on parts to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Understand and be able to complete all documentation requirements for inspections as performed.
  • Read and understand work instructions to determine procedure for testing.
  • Commit to ongoing development and competence of job functions.
  • Perform tasks under direct supervision during the training cycle.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Silfex Quality Management System and properly apply Quality and Operating Procedures as appropriate.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and order of inspection and test stations.
  • Follow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to Manufacturing Manager, EHS Manager, and/or Director of Manufacturing
  • Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Maintain organization and cleanliness, housekeeping and 5S within work area. Maintain these areas at the highest degree possible while responsibly escalating any maintenance issues.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • High school diploma or a General Education Degree (GED) required
  • 0 to 1 year of manufacturing, Quality Assurance, or related experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Must possess basic proficiency in operating computers, including navigating software and web-based platforms
  • Work effectively as an individual and in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Quality and safety minded
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to perform successfully under supervision
