Job description

About Us
We are the leading player in the SaaS analytics and workflow space for dental practices, launched in 2015 to help dentists manage and grow their practices. Our best-in-class tech makes it more fulfilling to be a dental professional and easier to be a patient. Nearly 9,000 dental practices utilize our platform to practice smarter, generating an average top-line production increase of 50% in the first 12 months. Whether a practice wants a comprehensive 2-year growth plan or simply a more effective Morning Huddle, we take the busy work out of growth. Our platform helps practices find patients, schedule them, follow up, collect payments, file their forms, design their treatment plans, and so much more. We seek an experienced Director of Quality Assurance who can help our organization deliver reliable, high-quality software faster by building a world-class QA organization and embedding quality into every stage of the software development lifecycle. If the profile below sounds like you-let's talk!
What You'll do:
We are continuing to build a world-class QA function, and this role is at the center of it. As Director of Quality Assurance, you will own the end-to-end quality strategy for our product portfolio-from test architecture and automation frameworks to AI-powered tooling and release governance. You will lead a distributed, cross-functional QA team across the US, India, and Poland, and operate as a peer to our Engineering and Systems leads as a key member of the Product Development leadership team.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for a leader who is equal parts strategist and practitioner-someone who can set the vision, roll up their sleeves, and drive a culture of quality across the entire organization.
Location:
While our headquarters are based in Pleasant Grove, Utah, this role is open to candidates who reside in any U.S. state where Dental Intelligence is currently authorized to employ team members.
Outcomes You'll own:
  • Strategy & Leadership
    • Define and own the global QA strategy, aligning test coverage, automation, and quality standards across all product lines and geographies
    • Serve as the quality voice at the leadership table, partnering directly with the CTO, Dev, and Systems leads to embed quality into every stage of the SDLC
    • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing distributed QA team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence
  • AI-Driven Quality Engineering
    • Champion the adoption of AI and ML-powered testing tools to accelerate test coverage, defect detection, and root cause analysis
    • Evaluate and implement intelligent test automation platforms, leveraging AI for test generation, self-healing scripts, and predictive quality insights
    • Stay ahead of the curve on emerging QA technologies and establish the team as an early adopter of tools that meaningfully improve quality and velocity
  • Test Automation & Frameworks
    • Architect and oversee robust automation frameworks covering functional, end-to-end, regression, performance, and scalability testing
    • Drive the development and maintenance of automated test suites that scale with product growth and support continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
    • Establish performance and load testing as a core engineering discipline, with clear benchmarks and gating criteria for every release
  • Quality Ownership & Release Governance
    • Own product quality as the final gatekeeper for all engineering releases-defining and enforcing release readiness criteria
    • Analyze customer-reported defects to identify systemic gaps, feeding findings back into testing strategy and process improvements
    • Define, track, and communicate quality metrics, automation coverage, and release health to stakeholders and business owners
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to ensure quality is designed in-not bolted on-at every phase of development
    • Drive alignment between geographically distributed teams on testing standards, tooling, and processes
    • Translate quality data into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences

What You'll Need to be Successful:
  • 9+ years in software quality engineering, with at least 4 years in a leadership role managing distributed or global QA teams
  • Proven track record of building QA organizations and automation frameworks from the ground up in fast-paced, product-led environments
  • Deep hands-on expertise in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, pytest, JMeter, k6, or equivalents)
  • Demonstrated experience adopting AI/ML-powered testing tools and integrating them into QA workflows at scale
  • Strong command of performance, load, and scalability testing methodologies
  • Experience working in CI/CD environments and integrating quality gates into deployment pipelines
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills-equally comfortable presenting quality metrics to the CTO and debugging a flaky test with an engineer
  • Ability to manage and influence across time zones, cultures, and functions
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field preferred

Why This Role:
This is a great opportunity to shape the QA function at a company that takes quality seriously at the highest level. You'll have direct access to executive leadership, a global team to build and grow, and the mandate to bring cutting-edge AI-driven approaches to how we think about testing and quality. If you thrive at the intersection of technical depth, team leadership, and strategic influence-this is your role.
What You'll Love About Us:
  • Flexible Time Off + paid holidays
  • Competitive Medical, Dental & vision offerings, with buy-up plan options, AND we match your HSA contributions.
  • Fully Paid Parental Leave
  • 401(k) Retirement savings plan with company match up to 5.5% of your earnings + unlimited access to personal financial advisors.
  • Learning & Development Reimbursement program
  • Company-paid Life, Disability & AD&D
  • Mental Health support programs, Cell phone & gym membership discounts, Corporate Sundance Passes, and more!
