Job description

Job Summary:

At Centrus Energy, quality excellence is more than a requirement-quality is fundamental to our mission. As the Director, Quality Assurance, you'll serve as a key member of the American Centrifuge Operating (ACO) senior leadership team, helping ensure the safe, compliant, and successful execution of one of the nation's most important advanced nuclear programs.

This role combines strategic leadership with independent oversight, providing the authority and accountability needed to uphold the highest standards of quality across the Oak Ridge operation. Working closely with executive leadership, Centrus customers, and teams across the enterprise, you'll help drive operational excellence while supporting the future of domestic nuclear fuel production.

What You Will Do:

Lead the Quality Assurance functions for the Oak Ridge site by providing independent oversight of ACO-OR quality programs across design, manufacturing, construction, operations, maintenance, research and development, and project execution. You'll ensure compliance with NQA-1, ISO 9001 and other DOE and NRC quality programs. You will  direct audits and assessments; develop quality strategies and training programs; guide continuous improvement initiatives; represent Centrus with internal and external stakeholders; and build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams that support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

We'd Love To Hear From People With:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, or equivalent technical experience
  • 10+ years of combined nuclear industry and manufacturing experience
  • 6+ years of leadership or management experience
  • Ability to work effectively within a highly regulated DOE and NRC environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a high volume manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel periodically to other Centrus locations, contractor sites, and occasional international destinations
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a "Q" clearance

A Successful Candidate Brings:

  • Experience providing independent quality oversight for complex industrial, manufacturing, construction, or nuclear operations
  • Knowledge of quality assurance programs, audits, assessments, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience interacting with independent auditors and senior stakeholders
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and foster a culture of safety, quality, and accountability
  • An active or previously held Q-level security clearance
