The Director, Communication & Change Managementwill report to a Senior Director, Global Change Management. This new hire will be based out of McCormick's global headquarters located in Hunt Valley, Maryland, and will be eligible to participate in our hybrid work program (50% onsite and 50% remote per month).

Position Overview

The Director, Communication & Change Management will be responsible for leading c ommunications, leadership alignment, engagement, and transformational initiatives in partnership with senior business, global, regional, and functional leadership globally. The role will also be responsible for designing and implementing change management communications in an effort to drive employee engagement to support enterprise transformational initiatives and the functional business strategy/culture in alignment with Global Employee Communications and Organizational Effectiveness

  • Lead and oversee a Communications and Leadership Alignment Strategy (Content Themes & Governance, Audience Segmentation, Editorial Calendar, Channel Strategy and Development, Messaging) for the global function/transformational initiative across employees and external partners.
  • Provide strategic communications partnership and lead message development and execution for executive and functional/initiative leadership. Develop clear and compelling Communications for the function/initiative, based on a keen appreciation of the strategic business intent to: drive understanding of and engagement on priorities and key initiatives, ensure consistency and alignment of internal communication activities and communications to external partners across function/initiative to build a strong voice and visibility for the function/initiatives, and ensure consistency and alignment of internal communication activities and communications to external partners across function/initiative to build a strong voice and visibility for the function/initiative.
  • Support OCM leadership and provide change management expertise for function/transformation initiatives to align communication and engagement interventions necessary to mitmitigate change impacts.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of plans, platforms, and deliverables and drive continuous improvement for future deployments and initiatives.
  • Provide graphic design/creative support and leverage technology/innovation to deliver communications and program branding effectively, including collaborating with vendors (e.g., graphic design, video production, translation), as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Communications, Psychology, Business, or related professional area)
  • 10-12 years minimum of business and communications experience across multiple disciplines, inclusive of leading end-to‑end large-scale organizational change and internal/external communications in an international environment
  • Influencing skills as the role interacts across different levels of the organization and contributes to developing leadership communications skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and lead without formal authority.

Experience with Change Management, Project Management, Full Lifecycle Deployment and Design Thinking

Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Change Management Practitioner (Prosci) or Certified Change Management Professional (ACMP)
  • Experience managing changes and engaging stakeholders associated with complex, global ERP/systems implementation
  • Experience consulting with business leaders, providing communication and change management support
  • Demonstrated success working in a complex, deadline-driven environment
