Job description

Position Summary

The Business Development Regional Director - Northeast is responsible for creating and executing growth strategies to drive clinical inquiries and admissions across Odyssey Behavioral Health. This role focuses on cultivating and maintaining professional referral relationships on a national scale, ensuring clinical partners are informed and connected to Odyssey’s full continuum of care, including Residential Treatment Centers (RTCs), Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs), and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs). The position includes analyzing industry trends, developing strategic initiatives to remove barriers to care, and increasing clinical referrals. The Regional Director plays a pivotal role in mentoring and training new Regional Directors, fostering cross-referral opportunities between programs, and supporting strategic growth initiatives across the Northeast Region.

Relationships and Contacts

Within the Organization: Maintains frequent and close working relationships with facility leaders, the Business Development team, Admissions team, and all clinical team members.

Outside the Organization: Builds and sustains professional working relationships with clients, families, referral partners, clinical partners, and vendors.

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Develops and oversees a comprehensive, national growth strategy aligned with Odyssey's mission and strategic goals.
  2. Mentors, trains, and supports new Regional Directors to ensure consistency and effectiveness in outreach and relationship-building efforts.
  3. Coordinates cross-referral initiatives between RTCs and PHPs to maximize continuity of care and regional service utilization, particularly in the Southcentral Region.
  4. Provides targeted business development support in Northeast US and neighboring states, cultivating strong regional networks and identifying new opportunities for strategic growth.
  5. Builds a strategic national growth plan by evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting facility and market utilization data.
  6. Manages strategic accounts and develops national referral pipelines while maintaining and enhancing key account relationships.
  7. Utilizes Salesforce CRM to track and document outreach activities and communications, ensuring data-driven decision-making and transparency.
  8. Analyzes Salesforce data to develop targeted growth plans and outreach strategies that drive inquiries and admissions.
  9. Collaborates with facility and network leadership to implement strategic initiatives that enhance the client and referent experience.
  10. Executes sales and retention strategies, meeting and exceeding business development targets.

Key Leadership Responsibilities

  1. Mentors and supports new Regional Directors, providing guidance on outreach strategies, relationship management, and organizational best practices.
  2. Serves as a national point of contact for cross-regional initiatives, fostering collaboration and ensuring consistency across all business development efforts.
  3. Facilitates collaboration between RTCs and PHPs to enhance continuity of care, focusing on growth opportunities in the Southcentral Region.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Provides concierge-level customer service and communication to referral sources, clients, and families.
  2. Schedules and conducts tours with referral sources, clients, and families to highlight the benefits of Odyssey’s programs.
  3. Represents the network at local, regional, and national events to promote awareness and build referral relationships.
  4. Ensures all marketing materials, collateral, and websites are current and aligned with the organization’s standards for quality and professionalism.
  5. Contributes to quarterly business development meetings with facility and national leadership, providing insights and feedback to inform strategic decisions.
  6. Offers competitive intelligence and market feedback to refine service offerings and stay ahead of industry trends.
  7. Functions within the guidelines of the facility’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance.
  8. Promotes and ensures the organization’s mission, values, and goals are actively supported and understood by employees.
  9. Completes all documentation and reporting in a timely and professional manner.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Education and Experience

Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Health Administration or related field and 3+ years of experience in business development/sales. Additional related experience in behavioral health treatment services, to include;

  • Demonstrated success within a complex and detail-oriented sales processes;
  • Experience within specialized behavioral healthcare or substance abuse treatment services.

      

Additional Requirements

  • Position requires incumbent to have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance and acceptable driving record.
  • Clearance of TB test and any other mandatory state/federal requirements.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
