Job description

What Cognite is: Relentless to achieve

Cognite operates at the forefront of industrial digitalization, building AI, and data solutions that solve the world's hardest, highest-impact problems. With unmatched industrial heritage and a comprehensive suite of AI capabilities, including low-code AI agents, Cognite accelerates the digital transformation to drive operational improvements.

We thrive in challenges. We challenge assumptions. We execute with speed and ownership. If you view obstacles as signals to step forward - not backwards - you'll feel right at home here.

Our Moonshot is bold: Unlock $100B in customer value by 2035, and redefine how global industry works. Join us in this venture where AI and data meet ingenuity, and together, we will forge the path to a smarter, more connected industrial future.

How you'll demonstrate Ownership

You own two anchor accounts as a P&L and lead coaching for several Project Managers across AMER. You are accountable for value realization and expansion in your accounts, the engagement and development of your PM team, and portfolio health across all assigned accounts. You report to the SVP, Value Delivery Americas, and partner closely with Sales, and Finance.

The Impact you bring to Cognite

Monitor & drive accounts as P&L

  • Your team will deliver revenue on plan and manage services gross margin to target.
  • Drive profitable growth through disciplined scoping and change control.
  • Lead quarterly strategic reviews with executive sponsors.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for scope, risk, and relationship decisions.
  • Operationalize Cognite's 'agile partner' positioning: demonstrate speed, accessibility, and decisiveness so customers feel they have a partner inside Cognite, not a vendor.

Coach and develop several Project Managers

  • Lead weekly 1:1s with each PM: feedback, development planning, escalation.
  • Assess readiness against current and target role; create stretch assignments and development plans.
  • Monitor engagement, retention risk, and readiness for promotion.
  • Sponsor PM progression (PM → Senior PM → Principal PM) in partnership with SVP Delivery.
  • Ensure PMs own their account QBRs and customer relationships while you own PM coaching and strategic escalation.
  • Do not run PMs' customer meetings; receive weekly status and escalate if needed.

Own portfolio health across all accounts

  • Maintain a real-time view of customer health, delivery risk, and value across the portfolio of several accounts (owned + PM-managed).
  • Run weekly portfolio check-ins with your PMs: Are we green? What risks are emerging? Do you need support? Escalate red flags to VP Delivery with options and recommendations.
  • Tie portfolio health to weekly ops meetings and monthly reporting to leadership.

Metrics you'll own

  • PM team health & development: All PMs engaged; zero involuntary attrition; 1+ PM ready for next-level promotion by target date.
  • Portfolio stability: portfolio shows zero unplanned exits; delivery on time and on budget; customer satisfaction stable or improving.
