Project Architect - Charlotte, NC

Bring your technical depth, design judgment, and coordination skills to a role where you can help shape thoughtful multifamily communities. This Project Architect opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative studio environment, enjoys solving complex building challenges, and takes pride in producing high-quality documents that move projects forward with confidence. Based in Charlotte, this role offers the chance to work closely with project leadership, support teams across multiple phases, and contribute meaningfully to the technical success of every assignment.

Why You Should Apply to be the Project Architect

  • Play an important role on a dynamic project team alongside project management and construction administration leaders.
  • Contribute to meaningful multifamily, mixed-use, and student housing work in a growing Charlotte market.
  • Take ownership of technical quality, detailing, and consultant coordination across all phases of project delivery.
  • Join a collaborative environment that values creative problem-solving, mentorship, and strong team engagement.
  • Work in a position that blends design thinking with technical execution, giving you the chance to make a visible impact.
  • Benefit from a workplace that values positive attitude, humor, follow-through, and professional growth.
  • Enjoy the opportunity to lead day-to-day coordination efforts while continuing to sharpen your technical expertise.
  • Be considered for a role that supports long-term career development, with emphasis on team collaboration, problem-solving, and technical leadership.

What You'll Be Doing as the Project Architect

  • Work closely with the Project Manager and Construction Administrator as part of a highly collaborative project team.
  • Serve as a key contributor to the overall design and construction document process.
  • Engage with internal teams to creatively solve design and technical challenges.
  • Lead day-to-day consultant coordination and participate in client meetings.
  • Develop and direct project detailing to support constructability and document quality.
  • Coordinate specifications as part of the broader technical documentation effort.
  • Partner with construction administration team members to identify potential issues and support practical resolutions.
  • Assist in developing solutions to significant or recurring technical challenges.
  • Drive technical quality in project documents throughout all phases of development.
  • Use both digital tools and hands-on problem-solving approaches to study and refine project designs.

About You as the Project Architect

  • You bring outstanding technical ability and a strong understanding of how buildings come together.
  • You have 6+ years of experience in design or architecture, with licensure preferred but not required.
  • You hold a professional degree from an accredited college or university.
  • You bring strong organizational skills, excellent follow-through, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • You have excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • You are confident preparing and advancing design projects through all phases of development.
  • You have experience in multifamily, mixed-use, or student housing construction.
  • You are proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, and similar design applications.
  • You are comfortable mentoring and guiding supporting staff.
  • You bring a positive attitude and work well in a collaborative team setting.

What This Charlotte Opportunity Offers Candidates

  • A chance to grow your career in a technically focused Project Architect role with meaningful project exposure.
  • Involvement in engaging residential and mixed-use work with opportunities to influence quality and project outcomes.
  • A collaborative culture where mentorship, communication, and shared problem-solving are valued.
  • Professional stability with a U.S.-based opportunity open to candidates already authorized to work in the country.
  • Modest travel expectations of approximately 5%-10%, allowing for project involvement without excessive time away.
  • The opportunity to build your reputation in Charlotte while contributing to projects that require both technical excellence and design coordination.
