Manager, Program Management Office

Reporting To: Director, Business Operations

Location: Flexible / As Needed to Support Sites

Overview

The Manager, PMO is a strategic and execution-focused leader responsible for overseeing the Project Management Office supporting both Customer Programs and Construction/Expansion initiatives. This role ensures disciplined project delivery, consistent governance, and strong cross-functional alignment across complex, high-impact programs. The Sr. Manager, PMO will lead and develop project managers while partnering closely with Business Operations, Manufacturing, IT, Security, Finance, and external stakeholders to deliver customer commitments and facility expansion objectives on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • PMO Leadership & Governance

Establish, mature, and enforce project standards, methodologies, tools, and reporting across customer and construction/expansion portfolios.

Drive consistent project intake, prioritization, stage gating, risk management, and change control processes.

Provide executive-level visibility into project health, risks, dependencies, and resource constraints.

  • Customer Program Oversight

Oversee project managers supporting customer-related initiatives including new program introductions, capacity expansions, and operational readiness.

Partner with Sales, Operations, Engineering, IT, and Supply Chain to ensure customer commitments are clearly scoped, resourced, and executed.

Proactively manage risks impacting customer delivery, cost, quality, and timeline.

  • Construction & Expansion Oversight

Lead PMO support for facility construction, site expansions, remodels, and major infrastructure initiatives.

Coordinate internal teams and external vendors to ensure projects meet safety, compliance, budget, and schedule requirements.

Ensure smooth handoff from construction to operations with clear readiness and commissioning plans.

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (25-50%) to support project sites

  • People Leadership

Directly manage and develop customer and construction/expansion project managers.

Set clear expectations, coach performance, and build a strong accountability-driven project culture.

Support talent development, capacity planning, and succession within the PMO.

  • Strategic & Cross-Functional Partnership

Act as a trusted partner to Business Operations leadership on planning, execution strategy, and portfolio trade-offs.

Align PMO priorities with company strategy, customer growth, and expansion roadmaps.

Continuously improve PMO effectiveness through lessons learned and operational insights.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

5+ years of progressive project management experience, including leadership of complex programs.

Experience overseeing both customer-facing programs and construction/facility expansion projects strongly preferred.

Demonstrated ability to lead PMOs, standardize processes, and manage multiple portfolios simultaneously.

Strong executive communication skills with the ability to simplify complex issues.

Proven people leader with experience building high-performing project teams.
