Job Description
Our client is the world leader in precast concrete boardwalk systems, and they continue to strive to improve the greenway and trail construction industry in North America. A successful Structural Engineer thrives with attention to detail while also thinking creatively on how to economize their system to solve the client's challenges.
Job Responsibilities
  • Report to the Director of Engineering and serve as a technical expert in the PermaTrak system, including site applications, limitations, and manufacturing processes.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert in structural and bridge engineering, applying AASHTO, ACI, ASCE, and applicable building codes.
  • Perform and oversee high-quality structural analysis and design for components, including foundations, precast concrete elements, railings, retaining walls, and component connections.
  • Prepare, review, and approve complete design calculation packages and ensure the accuracy, quality, and constructability of all engineering deliverables, including submittals and shop drawings.
  • Ensure final quality of all engineering deliverables (submittals, shop drawings, etc.)
  • Coordinate project schedules and priorities with Sales, manage assigned project workloads, and provide regular forecasts and status updates to Engineering leadership and Sales.
  • Coordinate with Structural Designer, review peer drawings for accuracy, and ensure compliance with established CAD standards; perform minor drawing revisions as needed.
  • Maintain project documentation, schedules, and communication using Salesforce CRM.
  • Prepare design calculation submittal packages
    • Foundation design (shallow spread, timber piles, steel pile, helical/micro pile, FRP composite, precast piers, cast-in-place, retaining walls)
    • Precast concrete design
    • Railing design
    • Design all component connections
  • Responsible for managing project schedules

Qualifications
  • Degree in Civil Engineering
  • 5 plus years of experience with post-tension concrete projects
  • Proficient in AutoCad
  • Ability to work on fast-paced projects
  • Ability to work within a team, sharing workloads to meet deadlines
  • Highly organized, punctual, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects
  • Ability to understand/read construction drawings from consultants
  • Ability to develop full sets of construction and fabrication drawings
  • Requires strong verbal and written communication skills
