Job Responsibilities:

  • Support Magna Electronics divisions working with its external supplier's delivery of quality parts and non-conformity problem solving.
  • Responsible to ensure the Quality in the supply chain for the assigned component, commodity, project, or product line; from the APQP phase thru Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for release to serial production.
  • As Senior Engineer, works as extension of the Quality Director, spearheading programs and projects within Supplier Quality and across Magna Electronics.

APQP/PPAP:

  • Leads APQP/PPAP activities for awarded supplier components across global divisions during the launch
  • phase of new products.
  • Ensures completion of APQP/PPAP activities in terms of timing and quality, ensures all activities required
  • are brought to closure.
  • Perform audits according to VDA6.3 in accordance with the applicable maturity level.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Subject matter expert for PPAP, supplier audit, problem resolution. Mentoring internal and external
  • colleagues.
  • Drive suppliers to reach Zero Defects, as well, support all Magna Electronic divisions with post serial
  • launch non-conformity problem solving.
  • Ensures that suppliers' practices and procedures are consistent with the Magna Electronics supplier
  • requirements.
  • Maintains responsibility for coordinating, reporting, and evaluating supplier process audits, as well, Go,
  • See & Fix Activities as needed at supplier and/or sub-tier outsourced (for example assembly and test
  • (OSAT).
  • SQE shall support to strategize and manage the commodity supply base with direct assistance to the
  • Supplier Development team, help support serial launch monitoring, serial production, change
  • management, through end of product life. Ensure the remaining APQP activities (SOP + 90 days) are
  • brought to closure.
  • Implement KPI year-or-year total Supplier Complaints (SC) and 0km targets as defined by Magna
  • executive policy deployment. Negotiate and secure respective supplier annual SC reduction targets.
  • Analyze QPF (supplier non-conformance tracker) data and provide detailed and consolidated rating-
  • input-data on plant and supplier level.
  • Take the lead to systemically improve the affecting areas; SC reduction, SQP (APQP/PPAP) for post serial
  • supplier changes, and support responsiveness ratings with responsible suppliers.
  • Understand differences in local plant supplier rating results.
  • Coordinate cross-plant activities in case of quality problems, using Q-Matrix (ensure supplier spills are
  • managed across all plants if applicable).
  • Be involved in Escalation Model according to Magna Electronics Policy.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Collaboration Activities Actively involved in new potential supplier selection and supplier onboarding process. Actively work cross functionally to identify and eliminate component-based risk during the program development process. Activity work with Purchasing for supplier response and improvement times based on wide range of opportunities for improvement.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Industrial or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Automotive Industry in Quality, Supplier Quality, Supplier
  • Development, Process, or similar area.
  • Considered subject matter expert in quality tools common in the automotive industry (APQP, PPAP,
  • MSA, SPC, Ppk/Cpk , FMEA, 8D, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable in key industry standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001, Special Process
  • Assessments, CQI-XX (E.g. CQI, 9, 12, 23, 27) and Geometrical Product Specification Standards and
  • Verifications (e.g. ISO 8015, 1101, 17450, 22432, 14253).
  • Excellent technical knowledge of the product/process technologies for which he/she is responsible.
  • VDA 6.3 Process Auditor Certification
