Job description

Why Box needs you

The Business Development team at Box drives partnerships and strategic initiatives that play an outsized role in differentiating and scaling Box. We work closely with external partners and across functions to identify, deliver, and manage partnerships, new go-to-market efforts, and deep product integrations with leading hyperscaler, enterprise software, and AI companies.

With data + AI at the core of our Intelligent Content Management platform, partners are a force multiplier for how we deliver innovation, reach customers, and scale our impact. We're seeking a Director, Partner Architect to lead technical innovation across our strategic partnerships and partner ecosystem. In this interdisciplinary role, you will collaborate and build with partners, develop and set direction for repeatable solutions and product integrations, and drive growth and market leadership.

This role will report to the Vice President leading Box's strategic partnerships team. You'll collaborate across sales, product management, solutions engineering, marketing, and customer success teams while engaging directly with partner and customer executives. As part of this entrepreneurial and results-oriented team, you will have an opportunity to shape and advance game-changing partnerships for Box.

What you'll do
  • Define and prioritize data + AI opportunities for solutions with key partners to reinforce Box's go-to-market plays and industry vertical and line-of-business focal areas, product roadmap, and corporate objectives.

  • Collaborate directly with strategic partners to identify, design, develop, and validate AI prototypes, demos, solution accelerators, and proof-of-concept integrations that showcase the combined value of Box and partner platforms.

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor and builder for internal teams, customers, and market-leading AI platforms, hyperscalers, enterprise software partners, and consulting firms, guiding them from initial concept through scalable implementation to provide successful business outcomes.

  • Design and maintain technical playbooks, architecture diagrams, sample applications, demo libraries, deployment patterns, and positioning materials to enable and inspire internal teams, customers, and partners to build and scale solutions on Box's Intelligent Content Management platform.

  • Support internal teams and partners in high-value pre-sales engagements, including technical discovery, custom demos, and workshops, while enabling internal teams on partner solutions that accelerate joint growth by solving business challenges with technical capabilities beyond those of Box.

  • Translate technical insights and patterns from partner engagements to provide structured feedback to product, marketing, and sales teams based on partner and customer insights to continuously influence our solutions, product roadmap, and go-to-market strategy.

  • Represent Box externally through demos, solution design sessions, and clear communication of Box's product vision, helping partners understand and unlock the full value of Box.

Who you are

We are an AI-first company. This means you approach your work with a growth mindset and find ways to leverage AI to help make faster, smarter decisions that will 10X your impact at Box. Key characteristics for success in this role include (but are not limited to):

  • 7-10+ years of experience in solution architecture, partner architecture, pre-sales solutions, sales engineering, technical consulting, product management, developer relations, or related roles in AI, SaaS, software, cloud/AI ecosystem, or consulting.

  • Strong fluency in modern AI, cloud, and SaaS technologies, trends, and integration patterns, with hands-on technical ability to build prototypes, validate designs, and deliver enterprise-grade AI solutions.

  • Proven track record of engaging, enabling, and working with partners, customers, channel organizations, or systems integrators, including AI-native and enterprise app developers.

  • Strong solutions and enterprise understanding, combining an ability to map and architect AI solutions across AI, enterprise SaaS, and line-of-business platforms, skill in tactical enablement and deal support responsibilities, and a love of experimentation to turn complex partnership initiatives into actionable momentum.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with comfort in both internal- and external-facing settings and the ability to establish trust across a range of technical and non-technical audiences and levels (from sellers to c-level executives).

  • Excel at connecting customer pain points with partner capabilities to design compelling solution narratives, with a passion for "showing, not just telling" through high-impact presentations, demos, and workshops.

  • Strategic, creative, self-starting mindset with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and thrive in ambiguity.
