Job Title: R&D Packaging Engineer
Job Type: Contract-Hybrid
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Kansas City, Missouri

JOB SUMMARY:
The Experienced Packaging Engineer will be a part of a fully integrated cross-functional team, working closely with R&D Platforms, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, and Marketing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of Package Engineering experience
  • Solid understanding of product commercialization process from packaging design to manufacturing
  • Food manufacturing environment experience
  • Experience with cartoning equipment, case packing equipment, and other packaging systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in application of process engineering solutions that apply to consumer packaged goods
  • Experience creating technical packaging drawings
  • Experience with working on team projects at corporate and plant level, and with engineering firms, vendors and contractors
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills required to effectively network face-to-face with business teams
  • Self-directed, motivated and good time management
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, Office 365, SharePoint, TOPS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry, food industry, or related field
  • Experience in new production startup process
  • Experience using Interspec, Optiva or a similar Product Lifecycle Management system
