About the Job:
The Associate Manager, External Reporting role is critical to ensuring the financial information accuracy of results reported in SEC Filings and other Yum! external communications and is responsible for oversight of the accounting and reporting of the $12 billion debt portfolio. In this role you will be a liaison between External Reporting and various cross functional teams, collaborating with Investor Relations, Public Relations, Legal, Treasury, Control and IT teams. As The Associate Manager, External Reporting you will report to the Director, External Reporting.
You will be required to attend the Louisville KY office three days per week (Tuesday - Thursday).
Salary Range:
$99,200 - $115,000 + bonus eligibility. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate's location, experience, and other job-related factors.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Drive accuracy of Yum! financial data in the external communications process through review of all quarterly Earnings Releases, Yum! Leadership team speeches and investor / analyst meeting presentations
  • Support preparation of Form 10-Q and Form 10-K SEC filings, including validating financial information in footnotes and MD&A
  • Oversee the accounting and reporting for the $12 billion debt portfolio, financial instruments and related derivatives including journal entries, account reconciliations and management analysis for various corporate level accounts
  • Manage the global models and consolidated Yum! reporting processes for System Sales, Same Store Sales Growth, Unit Count, Division and market-level MD&A reporting, and quarterly accounting and disclosure decks for the Yum! CFO and CEO
  • Committed to extended workday hours and assisting other team members during financial close, other tight deadlines or urgent situations
  • Facilitate a short-term assignment for other Yum! employees during the quarterly earnings release process

Ongoing/Other Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Treasury to review financial information included in press release statements from rating agencies, investor presentations for debt offerings, and other public disclosures
  • Provide ongoing support for Yum! and Brand initiatives including ad hoc analyses and other responsibilities which may include digital sales reporting, financial systems initiatives and technical accounting updates
  • Perform SOX compliance duties, including support of internal audit and external audit efforts

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • B.S. in Accounting
  • CPA designation
  • 5+ years of accounting, consolidation or financial reporting experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel experience and computer literacy skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Oracle Financial Consolidation and Close (FCCS), JD Edwards and Workiva
  • Public accounting firm or public company corporate accounting experience
