As our next Assistant Finance Manager, you will partner closely with Operations, Engineering, and Commercial teams to provide accurate financial reporting, forward-looking analysis, and actionable insights. The role supports plant profitability, capital investment decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives within a powder metal automotive manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Financial Planning & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly financial reporting package including P&L, EBITA bridges, sales/product line analysis, cash flow, CAPEX, and variance analysis

  • Lead preparation of Budget, Forecast, and 5-year Strategic Plan

  • Provide clear commentary on financial performance and key drivers

  • Support month-end close activities and ensure accuracy of financial data

Business Partnering & Decision Support

  • Partner with Plant Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Commercial teams to support business decisions

  • Provide financial analysis for pricing, margin improvement, and cost optimization initiatives

  • Support investment proposals, capital expenditure analysis, and Payback and ROI evaluation

  • Translate operational data into financial insights to guide strategy

Costing & Profitability Analysis

  • Support annual standard costing process and ongoing cost updates

  • Analyze product profitability, cost drivers, and margin performance

  • Collaborate with Cost Accountant to ensure alignment between operational data and financial outputs

  • Perform scenario analysis to support business planning and decision-making

Operational Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor and analyze key manufacturing KPIs (OEE, scrap, labor efficiency, throughput)

  • Support production performance tracking including inventory, scrap, and efficiencies

  • Link operational performance to financial outcomes and highlight improvement opportunities

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction programs

  • Monitor and validate financial impact of improvement projects

Working Capital

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction programs
  • Monitor and validate financial impact of improvement projects

Systems, Data & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Global Controlling and Finance teams to ensure consistency and best practices

  • Manage and analyze large datasets to generate actionable insights

  • Support system improvements and reporting automation initiatives

  • Ensure data integrity and alignment across financial and operational systems

  • Support ad hoc financial analysis, reporting requests, and special projects as required

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • CPA or equivalent (or in progress)

  • 3–7 years of experience in financial analysis, in a manufacturing or industrial environment

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS)

  • Experience in standard costing and manufacturing finance is an asset

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability

  • Strong communication and business partnering skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment

  • Experience with ERP systems (CMS preferred)
