Job Summary: The Director of Operations & Project Delivery is responsible for the successful execution, deployment, operation, and long-term performance of Lapid’s landfill methane mitigation projects from contract execution through commissioning, ongoing operations, carbon credit generation, and asset lifecycle management. This role provides strategic and operational leadership across project delivery, field operations, contractor management, manufacturing coordination, carbon asset management, and operational planning. The Director ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all technical, environmental, regulatory, and carbon market requirements.

Responsibilities:

Project Delivery & Operations Leadership

  • Lead methane mitigation projects from contract award through commissioning and operational handoff.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and deployment priorities.
  • Establish standardized project delivery processes, governance, and performance metrics.
  • Identify and mitigate project and operational risks to ensure successful execution.
  • Develop scalable operational systems to support portfolio growth and long-term asset performance.
  • Coordinate activities across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Commercial, and Finance teams.

Manufacturing, Construction & Contractor Management

  • Coordinate with Qnergy manufacturing and engineering teams to support equipment delivery, deployment, and commissioning schedules.
  • Oversee contractors, subcontractors, and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and in accordance with project requirements.
  • Manage contractor qualification, performance, and compliance processes.
  • Support field mobilization, startup, and commissioning activities.

Team Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing operations and project delivery organization.
  • Establish clear goals, accountability measures, and performance expectations.
  • Recruit, coach, and mentor employees to support organizational growth and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Financial & Business Management

  • Develop and manage operational and project budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement cost-control initiatives while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Provide regular updates to executive leadership regarding project status, operational performance, and key business risks.
  • Serve as a primary operational interface with customers, landfill owners, partners, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all operations and project activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, safety, and regulator requirements.
  • Establish and maintain safety programs, procedures, and training requirements.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to drive continuous safety improvement.


Requirements:

Education & Experience:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Environmental Science, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Seven (7) or more years of progressive leadership experience in operations, project delivery, engineering, construction, energy, environmental services, waste management, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-site projects and field operations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing external contractors.
  • Strong financial, project management, and operational planning skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in landfill gas, biogas, renewable energy, methane mitigation, carbon markets, or environmental infrastructure.
  • Experience managing geographically dispersed field organizations.
  • Knowledge of carbon registry methodologies and MRV processes.
  • International project experience.
  • PMP, PE, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar professional certifications.

Work Environment:

  • Remote or hybrid environment with frequent travel required.
  • Travel may exceed 40% and includes domestic and international travel.
  • Regular visits to landfill sites, industrial facilities, manufacturing locations, and construction sites are required.
  • Work may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, uneven terrain, noise, dust, landfill gas, and industrial environments.
  • Must be able to safely access active construction and operating sites while wearing required PPE.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
