Job description

Avista Senior Living in Tucson, AZ is seeking a dynamic EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR to lead our beautiful memory care  community. An idea candidate will be a licensed administrator with the state of Arizona.

As the Executive Director you will direct the overall operation of the community in accordance with resident and staff needs, government regulation, and company specific policy and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Providing Team Leadership: Leads the team of managers and staff to create a culture of cooperation, accountability, and growth. Works to treat employees fairly, training each of the employees to succeed, and then consistently looking for ways to help the employees grow.
  • Supervising and Assisting with Resident Care: Collaborates with the Health Services Director (Licensed Nurse) to ensure only the highest quality of care for the residents.
  • Family Member Interface: Interacts with resident family members regularly, responding to questions promptly and solving problems appropriately as they arise.
  • Ability to work with and interface with AZ dept of health: Consistently works towards being a citation free community. Regularly reviews rules and regulation to ensure compliance.
  • Operations Management: Maintains close relationship and reporting with the local corporate office regarding ongoing property issues and developments.
  • Financial Management: Reports to the local corporate office regularly as to the financial performance of the building. Strives to meet and exceed budget occupancy goals for the community.
  • Building Lease Up: Engages with the in-house marketing director and coordinates with the other department managers to move in new residents to the community.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

Qualified Candidates will have the following characteristics:

  • Licensed assisted living manager in good standing with a thorough knowledge of Arizona Assisted Living rules and regulations is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Gerontology, Business or related field preferred.
  • Have meaningful on-site experience providing leadership in a Memory setting - Minimum of 2 year's experience preferred.
  • Be an excellent communicator.
  • Fun to work with and have the ability to work flexible hours
