Job Description

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as an Operations Supervisor in Saskatchewan. This role is crucial for providing operations support at the local terminal level and ensuring our day-to-day functions are executed efficiently and effectively.
 

Role Overview

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Operations Supervisor will work directly with the local Terminal Manager. This position is vital for maintaining service standards and operational profitability. You will also serve as the main point of contact for the terminal during the Terminal Manager's absence.
 

Key Responsibilities

As an Operations Supervisor, you will support the Terminal Manager by:

  • Scheduling: Overseeing terminal pickups, deliveries, and service maintenance for owned assets.

  • Operations Coordination: Managing equipment and driver availability and maintaining communication with drivers, customers, and central dispatch.

  • Supervision: Leading drivers and dock staff to ensure performance and presentation standards are met.

  • Performance: Ensuring all operational tasks align with company and legal standards

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Class 1/AZ or Class 5/DZ license is preferred

  • Ability to travel to different geographic locations

  • Ability to learn new geographic areas quickly.

  • Strong multitasking, delegation, and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Computer literacy with descriptive reporting skills.

  • Knowledge of the freight industry, equipment, and driver work environments.

  • Ability to remain flexible and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

This position is based primarily in an office setting but may require work in dock or yard environments, as well as driving duties as required. The role involves continuous attention to detail, deadline management, and the ability to make split-second decisions.
