The job:
The Director of Operations is responsible for leading day-to-day operations across four locations providing integration & automation solutions to our customers, including engineering, project management, control panel assembly, procurement and logistics. This role focuses on executing operational strategies, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement to meet company goals related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement.
The Director partners with senior leadership to implement operational plans, improve performance metrics, and ensure efficient use of resources. This position also oversees facility operations and company fleet management, supporting ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and capital improvement initiatives.
The skills you need:
What you will do in this role:
  • Execute operational strategies aligned with company objectives to drive performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead implementation and sustainment of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze results, and drive corrective actions to meet or exceed targets.
  • Oversee daily manufacturing and supply chain operations to ensure efficient use of labor, materials, equipment, and facilities.
  • Partner with leadership to develop and execute short- and mid-term operational plans, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Manage production scheduling and material flow to optimize inventory levels, improve turns, and meet customer demand.
  • Collaborate with HR and leadership to assess workforce needs, support staffing plans, and ensure effective resource allocation across facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support decision-making and management of company vehicle fleet operations.
  • Oversee facility maintenance, repairs, and improvement projects, including coordination of capital investments and renovations.

Supervisory / Leadership Responsibilities
  • Directs operational performance and execution for a multi-site, multi-state brand portfolio generating approximately $75M in annual revenue.
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve operational goals and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Support and drive Lean principles and 5S practices throughout areas of responsibility.
  • Establish and maintain departmental procedures, ensuring consistency and adherence to company standards.
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively to ensure work is completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and maintain open, constructive communication across departments.
  • Assist in succession planning and development of team members to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on operational performance, challenges, and improvement initiatives.

Education, Experience and Ability Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred: Business Administration, Management, Finance, Supply Chain / Operations Management
  • Master's degree (preferred)
  • Eight (8) -15+ years total experience
  • Three (3) - seven (7) years in leadership/management roles
  • Proven track record managing teams, budgets, and processes
