• Clearance: Secret, will hold TS if you already have it • Program – C2BMC "This position is for a Software Engineer on the C2BMC program. The candidate will be responsible for Java software development for one of the Regional Applications teams in Huntsville (Battle Management, System-Arch, or Track Server). Under minimal direction, the candidate provides specialized expertise across multiple systems and software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, application implications, and customer areas. Essential Functions:
• Responsible for in-depth analysis and technical support for systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support
• Maintains currency, debugs, and configures related software products
• Works from specifications to develop or modify operating system applications
• Assists with the design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs
• Interfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve the operating system's overall efficiency
• Designs, codes, tests, and implements tools for operational automation
• Works on most phases of software systems programming applications and may require minor instruction and guidance in other phases
• Leadership positions on small, software-focused teams may be required
• Experience in software integration and formal testing
• Strong understanding of software development best practices and the ability to apply them in a multi-team environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proven track record of root-cause analysis and issue resolution

• Basic Qualifications:
Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or 12 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
• Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
• Proficiency in Python and at least one additional object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, C#, or C++)
• The candidate should possess strong oral and written communication skills and be capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting
• Software engineering and development with strong Java/J2EE experience
• The candidate should have experience and knowledge of software practices, including coding standards, automated testing, build pipelines, and configuration management
• Experience in developing enterprise applications on Linux; Windows experience is also a plus
• Extensive Experience with Java Foundation Classes and Toolkits
• Small team leadership experience (Agile team leadership strongly desired); mentoring and guiding junior engineers
• Knowledge of server side/database development, computer system administration
• Proven problem-solving abilities, including analyzing performance and operational issues, pinpointing root causes, and proposing, designing, and implementing effective solutions
• Other required technical skills include use of common software development and management tools such as Maven, Git/GitHub, Nexus, and Eclipse
• Experience with Agile development practices
• Understanding of standard systems engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams Preferred Qualifications:
• Expertise in net-centric, horizontal integration programs is a plus
• Strong background supporting software engineering for DoD programs
• Experience in developing command and control (C2) systems
• Experience with Agile development methodologies in software engineering
• Experience presenting complex concepts to non-software-engineering audiences, including senior program leadership, government representatives, and military leaders
