Overview

Resource Innovations is seeking a highly driven and strategic Director of Business Development to lead growth efforts across the Northeast region. In this role, you will spearhead business development and sales strategy for our Demand Side Management (DSM) portfolio, including energy efficiency, demand response and load flexibility, transportation electrification (EVs), and solar and battery programs. You will play a critical role in expanding our footprint with electric and gas utilities, identifying new opportunities, and driving revenue growth in a rapidly evolving energy landscape. We are looking for a candidate with established mid- to senior-level relationships across Northeast utilities, along with a strong track record of developing and closing complex deals within the energy sector. This individual will bring both strategic vision and hands-on execution, partnering closely with internal leaders to shape solutions that meet client needs and advance Resource Innovations’ mission. Qualifications
  • Must be located in the Northeastern United States
  • This position requires approximately 50% regional travel across an assigned multi-state sales territory to visit utility customers and prospects. Additionally, candidates should be available to attend 4–5 annual events, including two internal sales meetings and up to two national industry conferences, which may take place in various locations across the country.
  • 8+ years of experience working with and selling to Electric and gas utilities required
  • Degree from 4-year accredited college or university.
  • Experience selling either Demand Side Management (DSM) programs and/or renewables to utilities
  • Proven understanding of state regulatory cycles with regards to Utility Demand Side Management (DSM) programs – Energy Efficiency (EE); Demand Response (DR); Transportation Electrification (TE); Electric Vehicle (EV); Building Electrification (BE); Solar programs
  • Must have established Mid- & Senior- level relationships with electric and gas utilities throughout the Northeast region
  • Interest in sustainability and passionate about making a meaningful impact on the environment.
