The club offers an 18-hole championship golf course (6,490 yards, par 71, slope 129), a vibrant pool facility, dining, and family and social events. Owned by KENT Worldwide since 1927, the club has a multi-year reinvestment plan including a renovated lower level and year-round golf simulators; future plans include course enhancements, a new pool experience, and clubhouse upgrades.

The Role

Geneva Golf & Country Club is seeking its next General Manager: a high-energy, relationship-driven leader who will serve as the chief steward of the member experience and the operational heart of the club. Reporting directly to Ownership / KENT Worldwide, this individual will lead a team including the Club Manager, Director of Golf, Director of Sports, Executive Chef, and Controller. We are seeking a hospitality-driven leader with demonstrated success in membership growth, member engagement, communications and family programming, combined with significant operational experience to lead the Club. The General Manager will have full responsibility for all facets of club operations, programming, sales and marketing, and financial performance.

This is far more than a management role. Geneva is at the beginning of a rebirth, and the incoming General Manager will have opportunity to be a central architect of that transformation. Muscatine is a city with civic pride, business roots, and a strong appetite for a world-class private club experience. The incoming leader will have platform, ownership support, and community to make a real and enduring mark.

Member Experience & Clubhouse Leadership
  • Champion a fully family-oriented club culture that delivers exceptional, personalized experiences for members of all ages, from junior golfers and pool programming to signature social events and holiday traditions.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for the membership, maintaining high visibility and a warm, Midwest-rooted interpersonal style.
  • Lead the development and execution of innovative family and social programming, including season celebrations, themed dining events, junior activities, and community-building initiatives.
  • Oversee dining, events, and hospitality operations to ensure outstanding food and beverage quality, service standards, and member satisfaction across all venues.
Operational Excellence
  • Direct all day-to-day club operations across golf, food and beverage, pool, facilities, and events, ensuring seamless coordination and an elevated member experience.
  • Partner with ownership to lead capital improvement projects and facility enhancements, ensuring timely execution, budget adherence, and alignment with the long-term plan.
  • Drive a robust membership sales and marketing strategy, leveraging creative communications, digital outreach, and community engagement to grow and retain the membership base.
  • Maintain the club's physical plant, course, and amenities to the highest standards, reflecting the pride and tradition of a 125-year-old community institution.
Team Development & Financial Accountability
  • Recruit, develop, and inspire a high-performing team that embodies Geneva's values of warmth, professionalism, and hospitality, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and pride.
  • Provide ownership with transparent, timely financial reporting and strategic recommendations that support growth and multi-year reinvestment vision.
  • Develop and manage the annual operating and capital budgets, delivering sound financial stewardship with a clear understanding of revenue generation, cost controls, and long-range planning.
  • Build strong relationships with the Muscatine community, local business leaders, and civic organizations, reinforcing Geneva's role as a regional cornerstone.
Education, Experience, & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field; CCM designation or active pursuit preferred.
  • Five plus years of progressive private club or hospitality leadership experience. Suitable for a current GM or other senior leader ready to step into GM.
  • Deep appreciation for Midwest culture, community values, and the interpersonal dynamics of a family-oriented private club environment.
  • Demonstrates high energy, genuine enthusiasm, and hands-on leadership that inspires teams and earns member trust.
  • Exceptional sales, marketing, and communications skills with a proven ability to grow membership, build community, and tell a compelling club story across multiple platforms.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing operating budgets, capital projects, and multi-department P&L accountability.
Why Geneva Golf & Country Club?
  • A rare opportunity to lead a beloved community institution through a transformative era, with direct involvement in new construction, renovation, and membership growth.
  • Backed by KENT Worldwide, a family-owned company with long-term community investment.
  • Ideal platform for a current GM, high-performing AGM, or Membership and Marketing Director ready to step into a GM role.
  • Vibrant, year-round programming including junior golf, family events, dining, and seasonal celebrations.
  • Significant multi-year capital reinvestment plan already underway with a clear ownership vision for the club’s future.
  • Deep community roots as a 125-year-old institution with strong member loyalty and a family-first culture.
  • Muscatine is home to five Fortune 200 companies, providing a strong membership growth opportunity.
