Job description

Gwynedd Manufacturing, a growing defense contractor located in North Wales, PA, is a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility dedicated to producing quality products for the U.S. Department of Defense and various U.S. Federal Law Enforcement Agencies. As an innovative company offering a wide array of products, we strive to continuously develop new technology and drive process improvement.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Director of Sales to support and execute the company’s commercial strategy across all in-house manufactured, company-owned brands within the firearms and outdoor CPG market. This role will focus on driving revenue growth, supporting margin improvement initiatives, and strengthening brand presence by aligning sales execution, marketing efforts, pricing strategy, and go-to-market planning.

This position plays an important role in how we bring products to market. The ideal candidate is a hands-on commercial leader from a manufacturing environment who has experience supporting growth for brands that are designed, produced, and sold in-house. Experience in CPG or the firearms industry is strongly preferred due to the operational, regulatory, and channel complexities unique to this space.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Execution & Revenue Growth
• Support execution of the company’s sales strategy across wholesale, distribution, key accounts, e-commerce, and DTC channels
• Drive revenue growth while maintaining focus on margin and cost efficiency
• Assist with forecasting, pipeline management, and sales performance tracking by channel and product line
• Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, distributors, and retail partners
• Support optimization of channel mix to improve profitability and reduce dependency risk
• Track and report on key performance metrics such as sell-through, margin by SKU, and inventory movement

Marketing, Brand & Go-To-Market Support
• Execute brand positioning, messaging, and portfolio initiatives across Gwynedd Manufacturing brands
• Partner on product launches from concept through commercialization
• Support marketing initiatives across digital, trade, and content channels, ensuring alignment with revenue goals
• Assist in pricing strategy, promotions, and MAP enforcement
• Contribute to demand generation efforts and campaign performance tracking

Financial & Operational Alignment
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and revenue planning activities
• Partner with Finance to analyze performance by SKU, channel, and customer
• Contribute to margin improvement initiatives through pricing, promotions, and product mix
• Provide insights to support data-driven decision-making across sales and marketing efforts

Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Product Development, and Finance to align demand with production capabilities
• Communicate market feedback and customer insights to internal stakeholders
• Support development of scalable sales and marketing processes
• Assist in coaching and developing team members as needed

Market Awareness
• Maintain understanding of the firearms, shooting sports, and outdoor CPG landscape
• Stay informed on regulatory and compliance considerations impacting the market
• Support identification of growth opportunities across products, channels, and partnerships
• Participate in industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings

Qualifications & Experience

7-10 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or Commercial roles within CPG, firearms, outdoor, or related industries
Experience supporting growth of in-house or privately owned brands
Exposure to multi-channel sales environments (wholesale, distribution, DTC, e-commerce)
Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret sales and marketing performance data
Experience working cross-functionally with operations and supply chain teams
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution

Preferred Experience

Firearms, ammunition, accessories, or regulated consumer product industries
Experience in mid-sized or growing manufacturing organizations
Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems
Exposure to product launches, SKU optimization, or portfolio management
