Job Summary

The Physical Therapist evaluates, plans, and administers therapeutic procedures in physical medicine and rehabilitation for children and adults as prescribed by a referring physician. This role establishes individualized physical therapy goals, provides treatments, and regularly reassesses patient progress, documenting all findings accurately.

Essential Functions

  • Conducts thorough physical therapy evaluations to assess patient needs and develops individualized treatment plans across diverse patient populations.

  • Administers safe and effective therapy treatments, ensuring all interventions are appropriately documented.

  • Reassesses and adjusts treatment plans within appropriate timeframes to align with patient progress and changing needs.

  • Provides clear, concise, and accurate documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and billing information.

  • Educates patients and their families on treatment plans, therapeutic exercises, and post-treatment care to support long-term recovery.

  • Operates therapy equipment safely and maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff.

  • Collaborates with referring physicians, peers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and quality of patient care.

  • Demonstrates population-appropriate competencies for all relevant patient demographics, tailoring care to individual needs.

  • Maintains compliance with facility policies, including safety, infection control, and risk management procedures.

  • Adapts to changes professionally and effectively, following the chain of command to address and resolve issues impacting patient care.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required

  • 0-2 years of experience in a physical therapy setting required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of physical therapy principles, therapeutic techniques, and safety standards.

  • Ability to perform comprehensive evaluations and develop effective treatment plans.

  • Proficiency in using therapy equipment and technology for documentation and billing.
