Job description

Our Construction Equipment group is seeking a Regional Director of Rental (RDR). The Regional Director of Rental will oversee all aspects of the rental department with Multi Branch Operations for Illinois and Indiana.  

A RDR has broad, overall responsibility for a business or business units within the organization. Provide leadership, training, technical skills, and other support as needed to the team.  Further, must work closely with Business Units to ensure they have the goods and services necessary to drive the company’s goals and customer satisfaction.  The RDR will serve as leader for the rental department and is responsible for strategy, inventory, budgets, people, financial outcomes, and score card metrics. The RDR will report directly to the Regional Vice President. The expected base salary for this role ranges between $140,000- $160,000 USD based on candidate experience, plus potential bonuses.

Responsibilities: 

  • Incorporate Alta’s Guiding Principal into daily activities. 
  • Monitoring the safety, cleanliness, and environment status of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and outdoor spaces. 
  • Provide direct management of rental managers, rental coordinators.
  • Develop and implement KPI’s in conjunction with the Director of Operations. 
  • Coordinate the development of KPI’s for all direct reports. 
  • Oversee daily operations of the rental department. 
  • Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings (AOS) to drive KPI performance. 
  • Ensure the creation and implementation of a strategy designed to grow the business through Rental activities. 
  • Work closely with HR to lead team with integrity and establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive and productive environment. 
  • Ensure the development and education of key employees to pursue targeted goals and objectives. 
  • Engage in all branch Steering Committee meetings and drive positive solutions and results. 
  • Network with Union Trade Labor to drive positive relationship and partnership.  
  • Oversee key hiring and talent development programs. 
  • Ensure the overall delivery and quality of the business offerings to customers. 
  • Engage in key or targeted customer activities and customer satisfaction. 
  • Communicate strategy and results to the employees. 
  • Report key results to MI CE Executive officers. 
  • Engage with Alta MI CE Leadership Team in broader organizational strategic planning. 
  • Analyze current corporate operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement. 

Qualifications 

  • 3-5 years previous experience as a rental/operations manager  
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level 
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close 
  • Excellent listening and presentation skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills 
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent 
  • Language Skills - High: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 
  • Mathematical Skills - Intermediate: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. 
  • Reasoning Ability - High: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
