Racquets Professional Country Club in Powell, Ohio is looking for a Racquets Professional.Position Overview: Start-date: September 14th, 2026This racquets professional position reports directly to country club's Director of Racquet Sports and will function as an integral part of the management team. The club is one of the finest private clubs in Ohio and its racquet sports facilities include: six outdoor har-tru courts and four indoor hard courts (bubbled in the winter), and eight indoor pickleball courts.The racquets professional will assist the DoRS oversee and manage all facets of the racquet sports operation (tennis, and pickleball), with a focus on providing a high standard of service, hospitality, and instruction to members and guests. This is a unique and generously compensated opportunity to build a career in the private club business for anyone who wants to learn, continue to improve as a racquets professional on and off the court, and become a DoR in the future.Qualifications: The ideal RP candidate will have 3+ years' experience at a similar upscale private club or resort and a proven record of assisting managing a superior racquet sports operation, providing exceptional service, and implementing activities to promote member interest and participation. USPTA and/or USPTR, USPPR and PPTA instructor certifications in tennis, platform tennis, and pickleball are highly preferred and QuickStart certification is a big plus. Candidates coming from a high-level coaching environment (college, ITF, ATP, WTA) will also be considered.In tennis, playing level should be 5.0 or higher for and must be able to teach/coach all levels of play. An NCAA D-1 playing background is strongly preferred. Additionally, the RP must be willing to improve in tennis and pickleball should playing and teaching level does not meet that standard. The RP is expected to work six days per week, including weekends.The successful candidate must:be passionate about tennis and/or platform tennis/pickleball and provide excellent overall member service; be an energetic, self-motivated person with an outgoing, genuine and positive personality/attitude who attracts many to play and enjoy tennis; be a team-oriented player who will help create and inspire a quality racquets program at the club while respecting the culture and traditions of the Club. possess a high moral character and strong work ethic while embracing the role of Ambassador of Racquet Sports. Assist the DoRS with managing all aspects of the daily racquet operations to consistently achieve a premium private club member experience. Have great work ethic and be extremely organized; motivated, well-organized, creative, and dependable; have excellent, timely, and consistent communication skills (verbal and written), attention to detail, and work well with others;Duties/Responsibilities (will include, but are not limited to):promote the overall racquet sports program, club events, and tournaments; co-manage and direct the Junior tennis program; teach clinics and private lessons to players of all ages and ability levels; run cardio clinics; assist in men's and women's team practices; run and or assist with special tennis events, tournaments, camps, and clinics. The RP is expected to run an average of one social event per month. Oversee Pro shop merchandising and racquet stringing; compete for club teams, if needed; fulfill various administrative duties such as Tennis Shop coverage, attendance sheets, billing lessons, promotion of programs and events; take appropriate messages for lessons, events and staff; supervise seasonal tennis professionals; make calls/send e-mails for events represent and manage Tennis Shop and facility in DoR's absence; help in keeping tennis facility and Shop clean and in proper order i.e make sure water coolers are filled and clean, Tennis Shop vacuumed, items sanitized, etc.Competitive Compensation and Benefits: A generous financial package will be commensurate with experience and will include:Group class commission. lessons commission. stringing commission. performance-based bonus - discretionary.
