Description

The Head Tennis Professional will provide personalized service and an exceptional experience to members and guests through expertise both on and off the court. This includes, but is not limited to, executing well-planned and well-run events, teaching lessons and clinics, managing the junior tennis program, providing information, merchandise and service that exceeds the members and guest's demands, and assisting in all facets of the tennis and pickleball program in any way that best serves the membership and teammates at Paradise Valley Country Club.  


 On Court:

  • Assist in teaching lessons and clinics for men, women, and juniors.
  • Oversee and manage tennis camp lessons throughout the summer and holiday seasons. 
  • Assist in the planning, supervising, and running of tennis and pickleball events.
  • Aid in coaching process by analyzing play in practice, matches, and leagues.
  • Enhance teaching and instruction through the use of video and other teaching aids.
  • Stay abreast of knowledge and trends in teaching methods and styles, and racquets, balls and courts (including construction and materials).

 Off Court:

  • Restring and/or regrip racquets for members and guests, and new demo racquets as needed.
  • Assist in coordinating activities relating to league play (ex. Women's Interclub Tennis League and Arizona Tennis Association). 
  • Create and manage the Junior Tennis Programming that includes a development and performance pathway. 
  • Manage monthly junior programs that are both social and competitive. 
  • Perform event evaluations to improve and enhance future events and activities.
  • Promote events, clinics, leagues, and activities by calling and emailing members.
  • Maintain presence amongst the members to promote yourself and the tennis and pickleball program whenever possible. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Racquet Sports. 

Requirements

Required Education/Experience

  • High school diploma required; two years college desired.
  • CPR and First-Aid Certification required
  • USPTA Elite Professional or desire to obtain Elite Professional Status within first year 
  • PPR Professional or USPTA Pickleball Professional or willingness to earn within first 6 months
  • 5+ years of tennis teaching experience.
  • 1 year of pickleball teaching experience or desire to learn.  
  • High-end resort / country club experience, preferred.
