Description

Position Summary

The Director of Quality oversees all quality-related functions throughout the entire enterprise. As the head of the Quality Department, this individual maintains and represents the organization in all Quality Management Systems, serves as a shared resource for overseeing and owning the QMS for all site locations, and leads all pertaining audits. 


Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Works with executive leaders to establish strategic direction for quality initiatives meeting customer, product, and market requirement.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains effective and compliant quality management systems (QMS). 
  • Leads internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory inspections.
  • Ensures robust CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) processes and continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Ensures overall QMS compliance.
  • Collaborates with operations managers to implement and leverage Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Quality Assurance (QA) practices to enhance performance and efficiency in achieving quality outcomes.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to all Quality Managers in effort to drive quality in support of operations.
  • Recommends and coordinates cross functional support based on organizational performance assessments      to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Directs customer relations activities related to quality and reliability aimed at achieving total customer confidence and satisfaction. 
  • Communicates and collaborates with external suppliers to ensure consistent quality practices.
  • Establishes, implements, and maintains metrics and Key performance indicators (KPI's) measuring      performance in defect rates, waste, process optimization, CAPA effectiveness, and audit outcomes. 
  • Acts as the lead liaison / management representative for all Quality Management System and Customer Audits. 
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 10+ years in a senior leadership role in relation to Quality and Operation Manufacturing required. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experienced in developing and sustaining robust Quality Management Systems.
  • Understanding of practical inspection methodologies and ability to lead audits, manage quality processes, and maintain inspection readiness.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as Quality Management Systems Standards, safety requirements, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. 
  • Ability to lead internal and certification audits.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the company.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills with demonstrated success managing multiple priorities and deadlines. 
  • In-depth knowledge of quality control procedures and standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with working knowledge of statistical methods.
  • Proficient with computer technology and systems. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills that are effective to a diverse audience.
