Job description

Located in Houston, Texas and reporting directly to the Vice President of Quality, this role leads the enterprise Quality Management System (QMS), supplier quality initiatives, regulatory compliance programs, and field quality operations across all global locations. The position is responsible for driving a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence while ensuring compliance with API Q1/Q2, ISO 9001, DS-1, customer-specific, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the global quality strategy and roadmap aligned with company objectives and customer expectations.
  • Lead and manage the Quality Management System (QMS) across all global manufacturing, service, and operational facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with API Q1/Q2, ISO 9001, DS-1, customer, and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Serve as the Quality Management Representative (QMR) for customer and critical supplier investigations.
  • Direct global QA/QC personnel and provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for regional quality teams.
  • Oversee supplier qualification, onboarding, auditing, and performance management programs.
  • Lead supplier corrective actions, non-conformance investigations, CAPA programs, and root cause analysis activities.
  • Develop and maintain quality manuals, procedures, work instructions, forms, and governance processes.
  • Coordinate surveillance audits, certification audits, customer audits, and recertification activities.
  • Establish quality objectives, KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting metrics to monitor organizational performance.
  • Review customer tenders, specifications, and quality requirements to support business development and operations.
  • Monitor operational compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards.
  • Lead investigations related to internal incidents, supplier issues, and customer complaints.
  • Develop and deliver quality systems and compliance training programs for operational personnel and leadership teams.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, and Executive Leadership to improve quality performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in industry standards, customer expectations, inspection techniques, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support operational excellence initiatives and ensure standardization of quality procedures across all locations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by executive leadership.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position directly supervises regional and site QA/QC Managers globally and provides indirect oversight for quality personnel throughout the organization.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, Operations Management, or related field required.
  • Master’s degree or professional certifications preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in quality, manufacturing, operations, or regulatory compliance within the oil and gas industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading global or multi-site quality organizations.
  • Extensive knowledge of oilfield drilling products, premium drill pipe, hardbanding, tubular products, and related inspection requirements.
  • Strong working knowledge of API Q1/Q2, ISO 9001, DS-1, and related industry standards.
  • Demonstrated experience leading supplier quality programs, audits, and corrective action processes.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels and with customers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and quality reporting systems.
