Accounting Technician
Our small but progressive educational organization needs a reliable, organized Accounting Technician with payroll experience to support our Director of Business Services. The successful applicant will have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, a desire to work efficiently within a team and independently. If you have worked in a fast-paced office in the past and you enjoy establishing your own organizational systems, we are excited to talk with you. We are looking for someone who can operate effectively with little supervision and who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Essential Duties
  • Payroll
    • Initiate, calculate, verify, and complete Ed District payroll system
    • Maintain and update all employee payroll information
    • Payroll processing; Semi-monthly preparation of payroll for employees including accounts payable for payroll liabilities
    • Maintain personnel files to keep up to date with changes in salary
  • Human Resources
    • Provide on-boarding for new hires
    • Support staff with benefit administration
    • Work with Business Manager to maintain current policies and procedures regarding HR and benefits
  • Benefits
    • Maintain personnel files to keep up with benefits for staff
    • Update payroll system with changes to employee information and benefits
    • Verify compliance in 403(b), FSA, HRA/HSA, FMLA, and COBRA.
    • Prepare monthly PERA and TRA reports
    • Maintain system Time Off/ESST
  • State & Federal Reporting
    • Complete quarterly/annual tax and wage reporting
    • Verify annual information to accurately prepare W-2's, and 1095's for Ed District
      employees
    • Maintain records for 1099 reporting
  • Accounts Payables
    • Oversee Accounts Payable according to schedule
    • Assist with invoice preparation and monitoring payment receipts
  • PD Claims
    • Oversee district staff development and collaborative planning claim forms
  • Other Duties
    • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
    • Promote and maintain high ethical and confidential standards

Education & Training
  • Associate's degree in accounting OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a job related field that enables performance of all aspects of this position.

Work Experience
  • Preferred: Three or more years working in a related position

Salary and Benefits
  • Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 (subject to negotiated agreement and work experience).
