Job description

Overview:
We are currently hiring for Director of Engineering to support their Engineering department, as well as all other departments of the hotel. The ultimate mission of this role will be to lead the Engineering team to drive guest satisfaction by exceeding their expectations. Responsible for maintaining the building, grounds, and physical plant with particular attention towards safety, security and asset protection.
Positioned as one of the key room division leaders, this is a phenomenal opportunity to:
  • To be in a leadership role as well as in the trenches to be a hands-on and deliverer of a quality product and experience and
  • Be a key member of the Leadership team liaising with all department heads across the hotel

A strong predictor of success for the Director of Engineering will be:
  • Balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment
  • Effectively manage the budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance and energy conservation
  • Develop cohesion with direct reports and maximize productivity amongst the engineering team by providing continuous opportunities for career development

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Ensure brand training compliance for you and your staff within the first 30 days
  • Develop a program to increase employee recognition within the first 60 days
  • Develop and implement a successful full facility preventive maintenance program within the first 90 days
  • Assess and communicate any critical facility needs within the first 30 days
  • Establish relationships with all existing vendor and propose any changes within the first 60 days

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED; 5 years' experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area
  • 2 years' experience as a supervisor/manager in engineering
  • Basic Computer skills required to include processing emails, basic spreadsheet manipulation and database/systems navigation
  • Verifiable technical training in HVAC-R/Electrical/Plumbing

Preferred Skills and/or Education:
  • Hotel Brand experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Excel, and Word primarily
  • Basic computer skills needed. Familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Experience with hotel information systems preferred
  • Highly desirable 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major
