Job description

Position Overview

The Director of League & Program Operations is a key leadership role responsible for the
successful planning, execution, and growth of SPORTSKIND's leagues, tournaments, and
community events. This individual will oversee day-to-day league operations, lead and develop
staff, manage venue partnerships, and ensure exceptional experiences for players, partners,
and stakeholders.

Working closely with the SPORTSKIND management team, this position is ideal for a highly
organized, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems,
and is passionate about sports, recreation, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities

League & Event Operation

  • Lead the planning and execution of all leagues, tournaments, and events.
  • Oversee scheduling, game-day operations, equipment logistics, and participant
    management.
  • Ensure programs are delivered consistently, safely, and at a high standard of quality.
    Team Leadership & Staff Management
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise league coordinators, referees and event staff.
  • Develop staffing plans and manage scheduling, performance, and payroll tracking.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture.

Venue & Partner Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with facility partners and vendors.
  • Negotiate contract terms, secure permits, and manage venue logistics.
  • Identify and pursue new venue opportunities to support growth.

Participant Experience

  • Champion an exceptional customer experience from registration through season
    completion.
  • Oversee participant communications, issue resolution, retention initiatives, and
    community engagement efforts.
  • Handle disciplinary matters and conflict resolution professionally and consistently.

Growth & Business Development

  • Identify opportunities to expand leagues, programs, and events.
  • Support strategic partnerships and community initiatives.
  • Provide operational insight and recommendations to improve efficiency, participant
    satisfaction, and profitability.

Inventory & Administrative Management

  • Manage inventory of equipment, shirts, merchandise, prizes, and event materials.
  • Ensure operational systems, reporting, and processes are organized and effective.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, program management, sports
    administration, or a related leadership role.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
    simultaneously.
  • Proven leadership experience, including hiring, training, and managing teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working independently.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by league and event schedules.
  • Passion for team sports, recreation, events, and community-building.
