SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

New Product

  • Assist in new product development efforts when required.
  • Collaborate and problem solve with NP Team during new product launch initiatives.
  • Select appropriate metalcraft solutions that are sustainable , efficient, effective and provide a positive brand experience for the customer.

Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with process team to validate, prioritize, and coordinate the RFC process for continuous improvement within the department.
  • Assist in intra-department continuous improvement efforts, assisting in the development of innovative thinking and problem solving.
  • Develop opportunities to bring innovation to the department relating to equipment and process.
  • Support the department through purchasing supplies required for production while maintaining the departments allowed budgeting.

Quality Assurance

  • Maintain awareness of quality of work with daily observation of WIP as it proceeds through the department to ensure product meets quality standards.
  • Inform Department Leader of MRB/RMA/QC status and root cause specific to the department and then follow-up on MRB/RMA/QC’s by tracking solutions.
  • Collaborate with process team on MRB/RMA/QC as it relates to process documents.
  • Follow-up on MRB/RMA/QC issues and track solutions.
  • Collaborate with process team to assist in the development and maintenance of training on departmental procedures (process documentation).
  • Work with process team to create and maintain a system of process controls by: identifying process variables that need to be controlled, assisting in the development of a system of process controls, assisting in the training of fellow employees on process controls, ensuring process controls are followed, and aiding in the development of visual aids of process controls.
  • Perform various product quality audits with an emphasis on those measured by process control measurements but also including the aesthetic and structural integrity of the product.
  • Effectively communicate with team members about variations in quality.
  • Make quality decisions concerning WIP and its disposition.
  • Ensure that rework gets the attention it requires to come to a successful disposition.

Training

  • Collaborate with process team to catalog necessary department skills and assist in the creation of training materials that can be used to teach the necessary knowledge and skills to team members.
  • Support new team member training on processes and equipment.
  • Provide less proficient team members feedback and instruction to assist in their learning.
  • Coordinate and administer the creation of SOP documentation. Train employees on the use of equipment within the department for SOP certification. Collaborate with the Safety Committee relative to these SOPs.
  • Work with fellow team members on other technical needs.

Costing

  • Support the execution and help to ensure the accuracy of time studies, routings and other costing efforts within the department.
  • Serve as a resource for Engineering, A&A, and Production for all costing activities.

Measurements

  • Help to ensure accurate measurement of various processes as a basis for continuous improvement, training, routings, and costing.
  • Monitor productivity to identify areas of opportunity and advise operations when appropriate.

Equipment

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a system that ensures the proper usage of the equipment within the department.
  • Regularly audit the maintenance practices within the team’s circle of responsibility.
