The Role

Our client is seeking a Senior Director of Physician Services to provide executive-level leadership over all physician practice management activities at their Las Cruces, New Mexico facility. This is a high-impact senior leadership role accountable for the operational, financial, and strategic performance of physician practices across the service area. The successful candidate will bring a decade or more of physician practice management experience and the ability to build strong relationships with physicians, clinical leadership, and the broader healthcare community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all physician practice management functions across the service area
  • Oversee the operational performance of physician practices including staffing, workflow, productivity, and patient access
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow and optimise the physician services programme in alignment with organisational goals
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with physicians, medical staff leadership, and external partners
  • Manage financial performance of physician practices including budgets, revenue cycle oversight, and cost management
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organisational policies
  • Lead the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of physician practice management staff
  • Travel infrequently within the service area to outreach locations (generally within 50 miles)

Requirements

Must-Have ★

  • ★ Bachelor's degree AND graduation from a programme in Health Care Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • ★ Minimum 10 years of experience managing physician practices
  • ★ Must reside in or be fully committed to relocating to the Las Cruces, NM area within 45 days of offer acceptance
  • ★ Ability to travel infrequently within the service area (generally within 50 miles)

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Ability to relocate within 30 days — advantageous
  • Advanced degree (MHA, MBA, or equivalent) in healthcare management or business
