Role Summary
MoneyLion is building a deeply personalized financial platform one where every surface, recommendation, and communication reflects who the customer is and what they need right now. This role is the conductor of that system.
As Director of Product, Personalization, you will own the capabilities that sit at the intersection of data, product, and customer relationship-building: the personalized engagement feed, the proprietary personalization engine that powers real-time recommendations and ranking, and the cross-product orchestration layer that connects channels to outcomes. You will not just manage a product area - you will define how personalization works across the entire MoneyLion ecosystem.
This is a high-leverage, high-visibility role. You will work closely with engineering, data science, lifecycle, and growth teams to translate customer signals into product experiences that deepen the customer relationship over time - moving customers from transactional interactions to habitual, high-value engagement with the MoneyLion platform. Success here is measured not by features shipped, but by how well the platform learns, adapts, and earns trust with each customer.
Responsibilities
Personalization Platform
  • Own product strategy and roadmap for MoneyLion's internal personalization engine - a proprietary platform responsible for signal ingestion, ranking logic, and real-time decisioning across the customer experience.
  • Define how behavioral, financial, and engagement data is used to surface the right content, offer, or experience to the right customer at the right time.
  • Partner with data science and engineering to mature ML-driven personalization from rule-based to model-driven, with ongoing experimentation and feedback loops.
  • Establish instrumentation and measurement frameworks that track personalization quality, coverage, and downstream impact on key business outcomes.

Personalized Engagement Feed
  • Own MoneyLion's personalized engagement feed - the primary in-app surface for surfacing relevant products, offers, and content to each customer based on their financial profile, behavior, and relationship stage.
  • Define ranking logic, card-level personalization, content strategy, and engagement mechanics that deepen the customer relationship and connect customers to the most relevant MoneyLion products and offers.
  • Drive rigorous experimentation across feed composition, card design, and CTAs - with a clear view into how feed performance connects to relationship depth, downstream adoption, and monetization.
  • Coordinate with Membership, PFM, Credit, and other product domains to ensure the feed evolves alongside the customer - reflecting their full financial journey, not just their current product.

Lifecycle & Ecosystem Connectivity
  • Define a coherent vision for how personalization connects to lifecycle communications - push notifications, email, in-app messaging - ensuring channels are additive, not siloed.
  • Partner with the lifecycle team to align campaign strategy with product-level personalization signals, closing the gap between what the platform knows and what communications act on.
  • Serve as the connective tissue between the personalized engagement feed, comms channels, and the broader MoneyLion ecosystem - ensuring a consistent, adaptive experience that deepens the customer relationship at every touchpoint.
  • Identify opportunities to create durable personalization capabilities that other product teams can leverage, rather than one-off solutions.

Strategy, Orchestration & Execution
  • Act as the cross-product orchestrator for personalization - aligning priorities, coordinating dependencies, and driving decisions across Membership, PFM, Credit, Onboarding, and other domains.
  • Represent personalization priorities in roadmap planning, leadership reviews, and resource allocation discussions.
  • Define success metrics and accountability frameworks for personalization across the consumer product org - anchored in customer relationship depth (engagement frequency, product breadth, lifetime value) not just feature adoption.
  • Build and develop the team over time, with a long-term view toward expanding scope as capabilities and organizational trust mature.

Requirements
Must-Have
  • 7+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior PM role owning a significant product area.
  • Demonstrated track record building personalization, recommendation, feed-based, or ML-driven products at consumer scale.
  • Strong first-principles and customer-first thinking - equally comfortable with qualitative insight and quantitative data, and knows which to reach for when.
  • Experience working directly with data science and ML engineering teams to ship model-driven product experiences, including defining inputs, success metrics, and evaluation criteria.
  • Exceptional cross-functional influence - able to align diverse stakeholders, navigate ambiguity, and act as a connector across product domains without formal authority.
  • Fintech, consumer finance, or high-growth consumer app experience.

Nice-to-Have
  • Experience with lifecycle or CRM products (push notifications, email, in-app messaging) - especially connecting personalization signals to communications strategy.
  • Familiarity with ML infrastructure, feature stores, or experimentation platforms (e.g., Statsig, Optimizely, internal ML platforms).
  • SQL proficiency and fluency with analytics tools such as Amplitude, Looker, or similar.
  • Prior experience in a horizontal or platform role serving multiple product domains - understands the dynamics of enabling teams vs. owning end-to-end.
  • Comfort operating in an environment with inherited foundations - ability to assess current state quickly, build credibility, and establish a clear path forward.
