Description

The Operations Director supports the growth of Hyper Solutions by identifying and building a strong manufacturing partnership network and leading multifunctional teams to ensure customer needs and expectations are met within a contract manufacturing environment.


This position is responsible for defining manufacturing standards, production specifications, control processes, procedures, and product requirements for Hyper’s manufacturing partners. The Operations Director also ensures incoming supplies meet quality standards, establishes acceptable levels of variation, and monitors the quality performance of manufacturing partners.


Core Responsibilities

• Identify and establish manufacturing and supply partnerships that support Hyper Solutions’ growth plans.

• Oversee manufacturing operations and related functions to ensure strategic and operating objectives are met.

• Identify and target areas in which the business can improve its operations.

• Develop and monitor revenue margins, operating expenses, and budgets in partnership with the Chief Operating Officer.

• Drive the planning and orchestration of business objectives.

• Serve as a subject matter expert in process improvement, organizational design, and management and measurement systems.

• Deploy and implement the Hyper Operational Excellence System through internal and external partnerships.

• Research and implement new directives that support business growth and prosperity.

• Lead strategic initiatives to improve scalability, agility, and efficiency.

• Implement methods to inspect, test, and evaluate the reliability of manufacturing processes, products, and production equipment.

• Ensure processes adhere to quality standards defined by Hyper Solutions.

• Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing operational data.

• Deploy leadership systems and management processes to support on-time product delivery.

• Drive cross-functional alignment to ensure manufacturing partners meet customer and product quality expectations.


Additional Responsibilities

• Hire, develop, and manage a team of professionals.

• Develop and implement guidelines for employee evaluation, recruitment, and promotion.

• Oversee employee productivity, training, and personal and career growth.

• Support new product development activities and the creation of new product standard operating procedures.

• Support the company’s strategic planning process.

• Lead the Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality functions.

• Promote a strong safety culture across Hyper Solutions and its manufacturing partners.

• Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of related leadership experience, including experience managing third-party or contract manufacturing operations.

• Prior experience as an Operations Director, Operations Manager, or in a comparable operations leadership role.

• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets.

• Experience leading continuous improvement activities using Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodologies where appropriate.

• Expertise with ERP and MRP systems.

• Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.

• Electrical testing knowledge or experience.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and organizational skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced professional environment, including in a remote work setting.

• Ability to lead focused team activities involving third-party partners and work with a high sense of urgency.

• Ability to adapt to frequent change, delays, and unexpected events while maintaining professionalism and accountability.


Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or other relevant advanced degree.

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

• Experience with ISO-based quality management systems.

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools, including error proofing, PFMEAs, and 5S practices.

• Experience with SolidWorks, Arena, Oracle, or comparable systems.

Compensation

The anticipated minimum hiring range for this role is $160,000 – $180,000 year plus bonus. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include, but are not limited to, relevant experience, skills, certifications, and location. This hire will be eligible for discretionary bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, such as individual and organizational performance.
