Joining Hall Engineering Group means becoming part of an agile, highly collaborative, โ€œright-sizedโ€ organization that offers the technical resources and multidisciplinary capabilities of a larger firm without unnecessary corporate bureaucracy. Engineers are empowered to act as designers, project managers, technical advisors, and ownerโ€™s representatives while maintaining direct access to company leadership.

Core Responsibilities

  • Mechanical Discipline Leadership: Lead, mentor, and expand Hall Engineering Groupโ€™s Mechanical/HVAC engineering team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, technical excellence, and professional development.

  • Client Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, contractors, consultants, and institutional clients while serving as a trusted technical advisor.

  • Business Development: Support proposal development, project interviews, presentations, fee negotiations, client pursuit strategies, and efforts to expand the firmโ€™s mechanical engineering portfolio.

  • Operational Oversight: Manage staffing, workload distribution, utilization, project budgets, schedules, resource planning, and financial performance within the mechanical discipline.

  • Strategic Growth: Collaborate with company leadership on annual planning, market expansion, talent acquisition, organizational development, and the long-term growth of the mechanical practice.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.

  • Licensure: Active Professional Engineer license in Florida or the ability to obtain Florida licensure through reciprocity.

  • Experience: At least 10 years of progressive Mechanical/HVAC design engineering experience within an engineering consulting environment.

  • Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading engineers and designers, managing project teams, and overseeing multiple concurrent assignments.

  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage mechanical projects from initial concept and programming through construction administration and project closeout.

  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building systems, including chilled-water systems, Variable Refrigerant Flow systems, Variable Air Volume systems, central energy plants, controls, ventilation, and humidity management.

  • Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency with Revit, BIM workflows, digital collaboration tools, energy modeling software, and other mechanical design applications.

  • Sustainability and Decarbonization: Experience with sustainable design strategies, energy conservation, building electrification, decarbonization, LEED, and high-performance building systems.

  • Business Development: Demonstrated success developing client relationships, securing new work, contributing to proposals, and expanding revenue within an engineering practice.

  • Financial Management: Experience overseeing project budgets, utilization, staffing forecasts, profitability, and operational performance.

What This Opportunity Offers

  • The opportunity to lead and shape the future of Hall Engineering Groupโ€™s Mechanical Engineering discipline.

  • Direct access to company leadership and meaningful influence over technical, operational, and growth decisions.

  • A diverse project portfolio across several resilient and high-growth Florida markets.

  • A collaborative environment with the resources of a multidisciplinary firm and the agility of a smaller organization.
