What does a director of libraries do?

A Director of Libraries oversees the management and strategic direction of library systems, which may include public, academic, or special libraries. They are responsible for budgeting, staffing, policy development, and ensuring the library meets the needs of its community or institution. Effective leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
