Job description

Are you a visionary technology leader who thrives at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and execution? SkyOne Federal Credit Union is seeking a Director of Information Technology to lead our technology organization and help drive our commitment to Make It Easy for members and employees.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Committee, you will oversee all aspects of technology, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital platforms, business applications, data analytics, and IT operations. You will develop and execute technology strategies that support organizational growth, strengthen security, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver exceptional experiences for members and employees. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on involvement, requiring a leader who can guide enterprise initiatives, solve complex technology challenges, and build strong partnerships across the organization.
Day-to-Day as a Director of Information Technology
In this role, you'll provide leadership and direction for all technology services, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business applications across the Credit Union. You'll partner with organizational leaders to identify opportunities for innovation, improve business processes through automation and emerging technologies, and ensure technology investments align with business objectives. You'll oversee the performance, security, and reliability of core banking systems, digital platforms, cloud services, and enterprise applications while leading data, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives that support informed decision-making.
You'll also serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, manage vendor relationships and technology budgets, oversee cybersecurity, business continuity, and disaster recovery programs, and champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Most importantly, you'll develop and inspire a high-performing IT team dedicated to delivering exceptional service and value to the organization.
What You Need to Be Successful
To excel in this role, you'll bring progressive leadership experience managing enterprise technology environments, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, applications, digital platforms, and technology operations. You'll have a demonstrated ability to develop and execute technology strategies, lead digital transformation initiatives, and leverage emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, automation, analytics, and business intelligence to drive business results.
The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of cloud technologies, networking, infrastructure, cybersecurity frameworks, technology risk management, and business continuity planning. Experience supporting core banking platforms, particularly Symitar, and working within a financial services, banking, or credit union environment is highly preferred. Success in this role also requires exceptional leadership, communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills, along with the ability to develop high-performing teams, manage vendor partnerships, and effectively balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Relevant industry certifications preferred.
  • Progressive experience leading and supporting enterprise technology functions, including digital platforms, business applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and technology operations.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing technology strategies, digital transformation initiatives, and technology modernization efforts that improve business performance and user experience.
  • Experience evaluating, implementing, and supporting emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), business process automation, business intelligence, analytics, digital banking solutions, and FinTech partnerships.
  • Strong experience supporting and managing core banking platforms and mission-critical business applications; Symitar experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise technology environments, including cloud computing, networking, infrastructure, virtualization, storage, unified communications, and end-user computing technologies.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices, including NIST, technology risk management, disaster recovery, business continuity, and information security controls.
  • Proven ability to lead technology projects and initiatives while remaining actively involved in problem-solving, solution design, implementation, troubleshooting, and operational support as needed.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team development, coaching, and performance management skills, with the ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Experience managing vendors, technology contracts, budgets, and third-party relationships.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and build collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in financial services, banking, or credit union environments preferred.
