JOB SUMMARY
This position is to lead the Engineering team to provide dependable, on-time products to our customers that meet their needs.
Responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with codes and legal regulations
  • Leading management of the Engineering team to complete design work per customer orders on time and on budget
  • Leading all technical and managing the end-to-end launch of new products
  • Design, engineering, documentation, patents, design reviews, manufacturing trials, budgets, and elimination of manufacturing glitches and production
  • Leading continuous process quality improvements
  • Creating and maintaining engineering best practices
  • Driving a high-quality mind-set and practices throughout the organization
  • Developing, implementing and executing the engineering business plans in alignment with the corporate-wide business planning process
  • Maintaining compliance of all governing regulations regarding current product design portfolio

PRINCIPAL CONTACTS INSIDE/OUTSIDE THE COMPANY
This position will interact with Chief Operating Officer, Project Managers, Quality Manager, Customers, Director of Supply Chain, Buyers, Vendors, Engineering Managers, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Electrical and Mechanical Designers, Electrical and Mechanical Detailers, Division Presidents, Estimators, Sales and Manufacturing personnel.
COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to think and act strategically and proactively
  • Past experience leading change initiatives/continuous improvement
  • Proven leadership ability to develop a strong team that can execute new product introduction and existing product upgrades, while concurrently meeting specifications, costs, and timelines
  • Knowledge of engineering procedures and best practices, such as DMAIC, cause & effect, lean six sigma, and statistical data analysis.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Solid understanding and ability to leverage AutoCAD and Inventor tools
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes such as shear and press, welding, and fabrication of aluminum and stainless-steel industrial capital equipment is highly desired
  • Working knowledge of MS Office software applications and use
  • Effective communication and facilitation skills
  • International experience in Asia is a plus
  • Any additional items as assigned by manager
  • Understand, promote, train and ensure compliance of the QMS within the managed department.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required
  • 10+ years of management experience
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering/manufacturing experience
