Director of Residential Operations
Salary Range: $71760.00 - $97760.00 based on relevant experience
Education/Experience/Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field (sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, or psychology)
- 5 years of experience working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD/DD) within a residential setting.
- 5-7 years of supervisory/management experience.
- Word processing, Excel, Email, Database and Report generation
Summary:
The primary objective of the Director of Residential Operations is to drive the strategic leadership, high-quality execution, and operational excellence of Wildwood’s residential programs, supporting over 200 individuals across Supervised and Supportive settings.

Essential Functions:
- Program Leadership and Oversight: Provides operational leadership to the residential programs, ensures services are person-centered, promoting independence, dignity, and community inclusion, and monitors program quality and implements improvements when needed.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensures full compliance with OPWDD regulations, policies, and standards. ensures residential programs are prepared for audits and surveys. Follows up on applicable corrective actions from incident management and investigations, and ensures incidents are reported appropriately and in a timely manner. Full compliance with all agency policies and procedures.
- Staff Management and Development: Recruit, hire, train as applicable. Directly supervises Residential Regional Coordinators. Fosters a positive work culture focused on accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
- Quality Assurance & Performance Management: Conducts regular site visits to ensure quality care and safety is maintained. Addresses deficiencies and implements corrective action plans when applicable.
- Fiscal Oversight: Responsible for overseeing program operations, including working closely with the Residential Regional Coordinator to manage budgets, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and resource allocation to ensure efficiency and cost-effective use of agency resources while maintaining high standards of care.
- Individual Support and Advocacy: Ensure individuals receive person centered care in accordance with Life Plans. Collaborate with clinical teams, families, and external providers.
- Crisis Management: Respond to emergencies and critical incidents as needed. Provide leadership during crisis situations to ensure safety and compliance.
Additional Information
- Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable.
- Typically works Monday – Friday 9:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, and assist with on-call duties.
