Director of Visual Arts Education

Full Time

Salary Range: $58,000.00 To $65,000.00 Annually

This is not a traditional teaching role. As a Director of Education, you will lead a team of dedicated art teachers —building a team, shaping culture, and creating exceptional experiences for students and families.

What you’ll do:
        • Teach Art & Digital Design
          Lead weekly art and digital design classes, as well as summer camps, working across a range of ages, media, and skill levels.

        • Support Student Growth
          Help students thrive in the studio and digital lab by engaging closely with them and their teachers—observing progress, celebrating milestones, and identifying opportunities for growth.

        • Build Meaningful Relationships
          Stay connected with students and families through thoughtful check-ins, clear communication about progress,flexible makeup scheduling, and conversations about next steps in their creative journey.

        • Bring the Curriculum to Life
          Ensure lessons are prepared and delivered with care, following the One River Method while contributing creatively to lesson development and evolution.

        • Care for the Studio
          Keep the studio and digital lab running beautifully by ordering and restocking supplies, organizing materials and student work, and maintaining a clean, welcoming creative environment.

        • Create & Celebrate Exhibitions
          Collect, curate, and install student and community exhibitions, and help bring openings, receptions, and special events to life.

Requirements:
        • BA/BS/BFA in Visual Art, Art Education or Design

        • Master’s a plus or equivalent professional experience

        • 5+ years experience teaching visual arts for K–12 and/or adults. Digital art skills are a plus.

        • Track record of high-quality instruction, classroom management, and student progress.

        • Clear communicator, organized, and energized by a busy studio environment

        • Passion for art history, contemporary art and a “students-first” mindset
