Role Overview: The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) serves as a key clinical operations leader responsible for supporting the daily delivery of nursing services throughout Nevada. This position provides leadership, clinical oversight, operational support, and direct patient care as needed to ensure continuity of services, exceptional patient outcomes, and regulatory compliance.
The ADON works alongside the Regional Director of Nursing to support clinicians, maintain clinical operations, assist with staffing needs, and respond to changing operational priorities. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires flexibility, strong clinical judgment, and a willingness to step into both administrative and patient care responsibilities as business needs evolve.
This position provides direct supervision to Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and serves as a clinical resource and operational partner for Senior Case Managers. The ADON functions as a working leader who is expected to assist wherever needed to support patients, clinicians, and the organization.
Travel between Las Vegas and Pahrump is required. Time will generally be split between both markets based upon patient census, staffing demands, and operational priorities.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Clinical Leadership amp; Staff Support

Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, coaching, mentorship, and support to assigned Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, professionalism, and exceptional patient care through ongoing communication, performance coaching, and clinical guidance. Assist with staff orientation, onboarding, competency development, continuing education, and performance management while serving as an accessible clinical resource for nurses and interdisciplinary team members. Promote consistent adherence to organizational policies, clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality patient care.
2. Patient Care amp; Clinical Operations
Serve as a hands-on clinical leader by providing direct patient care as operational needs require. Perform skilled nursing visits, supervisory visits, Start of Care (SOC) assessments, reassessments, recertifications, and other clinical visits as assigned to ensure continuity of care. Assist with complex patient situations, clinical escalations, and care coordination while maintaining accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation. Support patient care needs during staffing shortages, census fluctuations, employee absences, or periods of increased operational demand and participate in the agency's on-call rotation as assigned.
3. Staffing, Scheduling, amp; Care Coordination Support
Support daily clinical operations by serving as a clinical backup for Senior Case Managers and assisting with patient assignments, care coordination, and continuity of services. Collaborate with Scheduling, Intake, Business Development, Operations, and other interdisciplinary departments to facilitate timely patient admissions, staffing coordination, and efficient service delivery. Assist in identifying staffing needs, supporting recruitment and retention efforts, and balancing clinician workloads while maintaining quality patient care and operational efficiency.
4. Quality, Compliance, and Operational Excellence
Support organizational compliance with applicable federal, state, accreditation, payer, and company requirements by assisting with documentation reviews, chart audits, quality initiatives, and clinical process improvement activities. Participate in survey readiness efforts, quality assurance initiatives, incident investigations, corrective action planning, and service recovery activities as appropriate. Monitor documentation timeliness, workflow completion, and adherence to organizational standards while promoting continuous improvement in patient outcomes, employee engagement, and operational performance.
5. Team Collaboration amp; Organizational Support
Partner with clinical leadership and cross-functional departments to support the day-to-day operations of the Nevada market and ensure seamless patient care delivery. Participate in leadership meetings, interdisciplinary collaboration, organizational initiatives, and special projects that support agency growth and operational excellence. Maintain effective communication with patients, families, physicians, referral partners, and internal departments while demonstrating flexibility to respond to evolving business needs. Perform additional duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned in support of the organization's mission, strategic objectives, and operational priorities.
Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:
  • Adhere to and support compliance with all applicable federal, state, accreditation, payer, and organizational regulations, standards, policies, and procedures related to home care operations and clinical service delivery.
  • Assist the Regional Director of Nursing in maintaining survey readiness, accreditation preparedness, quality assurance initiatives, patient safety efforts, and regulatory compliance throughout the Nevada market.
  • Support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the organization's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Program.
  • Participate in documentation audits, incident investigations, corrective action planning, policy implementation, audit response activities, and compliance remediation efforts as assigned.
  • Promote compliance with ACHC accreditation standards, Department of Labor (EEOICPA) program requirements, and all applicable Nevada home care regulations while supporting safe, compliant, and high-quality patient care.

Education and Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant leadership experience may be considered.
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Nevada.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of home health, case management, or nursing leadership experience preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of home care regulations, clinical documentation standards, and Department of Labor (EEOICPA) program requirements preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize competing responsibilities within a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR), Microsoft Office Suite, and other clinical software platforms.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the Las Vegas and Pahrump service areas based on operational needs.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, current automobile insurance, and an acceptable driving record required.
  • Successful completion of all required background screenings and drug testing.

Working Environment:
  • This position is a combination of office-based leadership responsibilities and field-based clinical care provided within patients' homes.
  • Routine travel between the Las Vegas and Pahrump service areas is required based on operational needs, staffing demands, and patient census.
  • Employees may provide care in a variety of residential environments, including multi-story homes, homes with pets, and varying housekeeping conditions.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and participation in the on-call rotation, may be required to support patient care and business operations.
  • Physical responsibilities may include patient mobility assistance, lifting, transferring, prolonged standing, walking, driving, and other duties associated with providing skilled nursing services.
