Mission

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Product Development serves as a key driver of growth and innovation for the Kimpex and CKX brands. The role involves orchestrating the evolution of the product portfolio to support growth, expand the product offering, and strengthen Kimpex’s position as a market leader.


The Director is also responsible for managing the integrity of the product database-a key element of operational and commercial performance-as well as managing selling prices, including developing, adjusting, and optimizing pricing strategies to maximize profitability while ensuring competitiveness in the market.


In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Define and lead product development: Plan and prioritize new product initiatives for Kimpex and CKX, from ideation to market launch, by identifying growth opportunities aligned with the strategic plan and customer needs
  • Lead the product development team: Lead, motivate, and coach department heads in achieving their goals, fostering innovation, continuous improvement, and collaboration with other departments
  • Manage the Kimpex and CKX product portfolio: Oversee the continuous improvement of existing product lines (equipment, parts, and accessories) and the addition of innovative products, ensuring competitiveness in terms of functionality, quality, and cost
  • Ensure the quality and governance of product-related data: Oversee the team responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and updating of product information and the company’s application guidelines to ensure reliable and accessible data for our teams and partners
  • Performance Monitoring and Market Intelligence: Analyze market trends, customer needs, and the competition to identify future areas for growth. Establish and track product-related performance metrics (e.g., adoption rates, margins, quality) and recommend portfolio adjustments (optimization, repositioning, or streamlining) to ensure the profitable and sustainable growth of product lines

Profile

With the following skills and qualities, you will thrive in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field focused on product development
  • Significant experience (approximately 10 years) in product management or product development, preferably in the manufacturing or distribution sector for technical accessories/equipment
  • Proven leadership and team management skills; Ability to motivate and guide a multidisciplinary team toward ambitious shared goals
  • Excellent analytical skills and customer focus; ability to interpret performance data and market trends to inform decisions
  • Bilingualism in French and English required, both spoken and written, to collaborate effectively with national and international partners (suppliers, designers, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of the product lifecycle and product data management processes
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work closely with various departments (marketing, distribution, sales, finance, etc.) in a spirit of continuous improvement
  • Creativity, a sense of innovation, and strategic vision to develop differentiated, high-value-added products, while remaining aligned with Kimpex’s mission and vision
  • Valid passport and availability for occasional international travel
