Compensation Range: $91,528-128,140. This salary range reflects full-time, 12-month assignments. Salary offers for part-time roles or assignments of less than 12 months will be prorated based on the assignment scope and duration.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Director of Curriculum provides district level leadership in aligning development, revision, and implementation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment to support district school improvement efforts.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. In addition to the requirements listed below, regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
  1. Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives, and parameters found in the Board's strategic plan.
  2. Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
  3. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
  4. Manages continuous improvement processes with school-based personnel toward guaranteed and viable Tier 1 curricula and assessment practices for Foundational Literacy, English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Fine Arts, and Physical education instruction across all K-12 schools and special programs as applicable.
  5. Monitors and supports alignment of guaranteed and viable curricula through the use of classroom visits, PLCs, achievement data, and implementation data in order to continuously improve instruction and student outcomes.
  6. Facilitates Professional Learning for instructional leaders, coaches, school based personnel in collaboration with district leaders to ensure high quality curriculum implementation and evidence based instructional practices.
  7. Collaborates with cross-departmental teams to analyze district and state data and make informed decisions regarding curriculum, instruction, and academic achievement.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Valid professional educator license required; administrative endorsement preferred.
  2. Completion of the Illinois Performance Evaluation - Teacher Evaluation Training within 90 days of the date of hire.
  3. Demonstrated record of successful classroom teaching experience.
  4. Demonstrated record of successful school leadership experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  2. Proficiency in a variety of research-based instructional techniques and programs.
