Job Description:


Sun Life is seeking a creative, hands on Social Media & Video Content Specialist to contribute to the evolution of how our brand shows up, gets discovered, and engages with millions of Canadians across digital channels. This is a highly impactful specialist role for a marketing professional who thrives at the intersection of creative storytelling, social media, and content creation.

Reporting to the Manager, Content Deliver & Social Media, you will execute enterprise-wide social strategies that strengthen Sun Life's position as a trusted, discoverable partner for Clients searching for financial guidance. You will work cross-functionally with Creative Studio, Brand, Communications, and Marketing teams across Canada (EN/FR) to transform social video content into measurable business results while influencing stakeholders through data-driven insights that shape campaign strategy and content direction.


What you'll do:

  • Execute Sun Life's organic video content strategyacross Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook to drive brand awareness, follower growth, audience engagement, and Client acquisition

  • Analyze video performance, community engagement patterns, and platform trends to produce reports and insights that directly inform marketing campaigns and content strategy. Translate data into actionable insights that influence stakeholders and demonstrate ROI on social campaigns

  • Structure social video content for maximum visibility across modern search algorithms (Google, TikTok Search, YouTube Discovery) and AI search tools. Optimize video metadata, captions, descriptions, and hashtags to transform social content into searchable owned media assets that drive organic acquisition

  • Collaborate with Sun Life's Creative Studioto conceptualize and brief engaging video projects, supporting production as a creative partner who understands platform-specific requirements and cultural trends

  • Stay ahead of platform trends and algorithm shifts,translating cultural moments into brand-appropriate video opportunities with speed and relevance

  • Deliver bilingual video executionwith French-language expertise for Quebec market campaigns, ensuring cultural authenticity and market relevance

  • Schedule posts and respond to comments, DMs, and mentions with empathy and brand voice consistency. Surface real-time Client insights to inform content planning

  • Coordinate rapid responsewith Brand, Communications, and Customer Care teams when needed. Monitor sentiment and flag reputation risks before they escalate

  • Leverage AI toolsto build automated reporting, improve efficiency, and enhance production capabilities

What you bring:

  • 3+ years creating social-first video content(financial services or regulated industry experience preferred)

  • Deep platform fluency:Expert knowledge of TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and LinkedIn video best practices

  • Bilingual (EN/FR):Strong video scripting abilities and Quebec market cultural expertise. Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada and worldwide

  • Analytics proficiency:Sprinklr, Excel, Meta Business Suite, and TikTok Analytics with proven ability to synthesize data into narratives

  • Community management experience:Demonstrated success managing brand social communities at scale across multiple platforms

  • AI fluency:Proficient in AI tools and enthusiastic about leveraging them to work smarter, faster, with a mindset for continuous learning and sharing best practices

  • Trend-forward executor:Hands-on specialist comfortable writing video scripts, doing light design work, and jumping in where needed to deliver results
