Business Development and Revenue Growth
  • Lead firmwide business development strategy to drive revenue growth and expand market presence.
  • Identify, prioritize, and pursue new business opportunities, including entry into new industries, geographies, and client segments.
  • Partner with attorneys to develop origination opportunities in line with the Firm's business development strategy.
  • Develop and execute targeted practice group action plans for practice groups.
  • Expand revenue from existing clients through cross-marketing and cultivating client relationships.
  • Elevate the firm's business development approach, overseeing high-impact RFP responses, proposals, and presentations that represent a positive return on investment.
  • Cultivate and leverage strategic relationships with referral sources, industry influencers, and business partners to generate new opportunities.
  • Monitor and analyze new client and new matter KPIs to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.

Engagement and Brand Elevation
  • Ensure consistent, proactive client engagement with target audience through profile-raising initiatives, including thought leadership development, events, sponsorships, and digital strategy.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to support existing and new client outreach, as well as strengthen relationships with resource partners.
  • Evaluate ROI on marketing efforts to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Stay abreast of business and legal news that might impact clients and our marketing efforts.

Operational and Team Leadership
  • Build and lead a high-performing business development team, implementing best practices, tools, and systems to support the firm's business development and marketing goals.

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop team members to effectively support the marketing and business development efforts of attorneys.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of business development experience, with a strong track record of driving revenue growth in a law firm or professional services environment.
  • 5+ years managing a business development team of 2 or more team members.
  • Experience working closely with senior professionals to shape and execute growth strategies.
  • Proven leadership experience including application of strategic plans to business development activities.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire at the partner level.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience using data to drive business decisions and measure performance. Track record of implementing a CRM system and other data analytics tools.
  • Ability to travel within the continental United States and attend evening events.
