Job Description

Fern is on the hunt for a Director of Business Development to join us in Atlanta and/or Remotely. As Fern's Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for driving, planning, and managing business development efforts for new and existing clients across North America.

The candidate must be US-based and/or local to the Atlanta area. If remote, the candidate will need to work on an East Coast schedule. Compensation is structured with a base salary, including commission.ย 

Responsibilities.

  • Develop, write and execute creative and informative presentations that highlight Fern's capabilities, resources, and values.

  • Conduct research of new business prospect brands and clients.

  • Analyze, develop, sell-in, and manage business strategies, including the identification and management of studio marketing strategies and tactics.

  • Lead on new business calls and proposal development.

  • Track, monitor, and report on actual business development.

  • Maintain knowledge of current events within the industry.

  • Identify and monitor key market and competitive trends.

  • Be a vital part of the presentation team at significant new client meetings.

  • Sustain a balance between attention to detail and swift execution.

  • Manage new business contact database.ย 

  • Maintain knowledge of Fern's process, talent, and core capabilities.

  • Partner with production team to ensure resourcing availability.ย 

Qualifications
  • 7+ years experience in a creative agency or media production industry with a focus on creative, sales, and strategy.
  • An excellent communicator that can network and develop deep relationships across industries as well as internally.

  • A proven track record for new revenue and new business opportunities.

  • Direct consulting and internal strategy experience (preferably with agency or media industry).

  • Network of existing industry and press relationships.

  • Demonstrated success managing P&L's.

  • Enjoy getting into the details and solving complex problems.

  • Extensive experience building multi-year business plan models.

  • Dynamic leadership and time management skills.

  • An understanding of the market landscape - big players, opportunities, key events, competitors.

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with great energy and vibrance.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
