Job Title: Site Director

Reports To: Residential Services Director or Supportive Services Director
Salary Range: $75,000 to $110,000 (depends on location and qualifications)
Nation's Finest is a Veterans' services non-profit operating for over 50 years and now in several states across over 16 sites. At Nation's Finest, our mission is to support America's military veterans and their families with a comprehensive approach to housing, health, and employment that helps them achieve self-sufficiency and reach their full potential. The Site Director is a management-level supervisory position with full responsibility for personnel, contracts compliance, site budget and all program activities at the Nation's Finest site location assigned. This person directly oversees and is accountable for the success of quality of services to Nation's Finest clients at the assigned location. The Site Director reports to the Residential Services Director or Supportive Services Director in their upline.
Job Duties:
  1. Oversee the management of site services, the design & implementation of special projects, and Nation's Finest relationships with community partners.
  2. Develop and submit proposals and applications for funding as required. Research & identify new funding sources to supplement or expand Nation's Finest services. Develop & submit proposals.
  3. In coordination with the Compliance department, ensure compliance with all current grant and contract requirements and goals. See that all required reports are accurate and in the appropriate format.
  4. Assist the leadership team in developing a site budget. Track all expenditures and maintain a balanced budget for all programs. Account for spending activities at the site level.
  5. Hire, supervise, evaluate, and develop supervisory program staff. Facilitate regularly scheduled staff meetings and training as needed.
  6. Collect, review, and evaluate client statistics. Develop statistical narrative reports as required by funders or as requested by headquarters office.
  7. Work diligently to educate and inform local government officials, legislators and others on Nation's Finest programs and the needs of military veterans.
  8. Advocate for the needs of veterans and advise internal stakeholders of potential policy development that is in the best interest of Nation's Finest clients.
  9. Participate in local networking and community collaborative activities that serve to enhance services provided by Nation's Finest.
  10. Develop, improve and implement robust outreach programs to identify and engage with veterans to ensure compliance with outcome goals and to serve as many veterans as possible.
  11. Act as the spokesperson of the site with all media engagements and requested tours/local engagement activities in collaboration with the Communications Department.
  12. Work collaboratively with the state and local mental health, alcohol & drug, and housing government agencies.
  13. Maintain a seat on the local Continuum of Care board and/or various community interest and partner committees.
  14. Additional duties as assigned

Educational Requirements
Master's degree from an accredited university in Social Work, Behavioral Health, Public Administration, Management, or related field preferred.
Bachelor's degree required in Social Work, Behavioral Health, Public Administration, Management, or related field required OR commensurate experience as defined by 10 years in a related field and relevant job title with increasing levels of responsibility.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience demonstrating proven skill in organizational management, budget development, and staff supervision.
  • Knowledge of laws and ethics involved in behavioral health services
  • Knowledge of government and non-profit employment, training, and housing programs.
  • Knowledge of VA-funded grant and contract programs for at-risk Veterans highly desirable.
  • Advanced computer skills and familiarity with O365
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to research, organize and write proposals for grants.
  • Ability to access and understand state and federal laws and regulations relevant to Nation's Finest programs.
  • Ability to organize and interpret data and information related to clients and programs and to convey that information in written formats.
  • Accuracy in basic statistical reporting and mathematical calculations required.
  • Ability to form and manage an effective, high-performance team and to hire, evaluate, and develop employees and volunteers.
  • General knowledge of relevant labor laws.
  • Exceptional people skills, with the ability to maintain professionalism and a positive, supportive attitude while performing job duties.
  • Ability to give formal and informal group presentations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and interact with people from diverse backgrounds, including clients in varying stages of mental and physical health.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks while maintaining a stable work environment.
  • Strong leadership ability with adherence to Nation's Finest philosophy of servant leadership and extreme ownership.
  • Valid Drivers' License and insurability on organizational policies
  • Negative TB test and CPR certification for those working in a housing environment with direct client contact
  • Commitment to serving marginalized populations, particularly veterans
  • Veteran status preferred but not required

Work Environment:
This role is not remote eligible. Work will be conducted primarily from a Nation's Finest location in a team-oriented office environment. Travel may be required up to 10% to conduct tasks as directed.
